He also oversaw recruitment in the summer. Albeit, yes he can only work with what he's got in terms of budget and quality.
Mind you if it was up to me Applegarth would still be a coach and Poching and Cummins would still be here. But they were apparently bad for the team....'"
They weren’t great for the team. Milky and Dave had to lead a mutiny and self coach the team.

Have you played the game yourself?
I did for a long time.
I got those types of cuts every week.
The clubs playing infrastructure is rubbish but off it we're make good progress. Stop taking cheap digs

Utterly disgraceful standards. We are currently a joke and back up every pundit’s assessment of our expected relegation.'"
I haven’t seen an early walkout like that in a good few years. North stand was silent. People just looking at each other in disbelief. Old blokes, young blokes streaming out.
Something snapped last night. Actions speak louder than words, but unfortunately we had another round of Chezzy bingo in Mash’s presser, and yes I know that we just can’t afford another coach, but there simply has to be “something” happen. Before the rose tinted brigade slap me with their share certificates and ask me “what should they do then smarty pants”, well thats just not up to me, or the fans. JM/MC need to put their big boy pants on and stop moaning about crowds being too small and just push on.

Don’t get me started on £5.30 for a beer. Can anyone tell me why we don’t get 6,000 crowds at £27 entry and £5.30 for a beer, and that dross on the pitch?

| We were completely found out last night and we're in trouble.
We're paying the price for poor recruitment and I feel this season we will drop and deservedly so after that showing!

How's Mikey Lewis by the way? I really feared for him when he was rolling around on the death pitch, rubbing his neck 'Mark Percival' style, thankfully once Hewitt got binned he seemed to make a miraculous recovery.

| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "The greatest loss that impacted the club was Chris Bretherton. He left at the end of the 2018 season when we finished 5th played attractive rugby and had one of our best squads with players signed on multi year deals.
The season after and every subsequent one we never finished higher than 10th. We started to dismantle the squad reducing the quality playing budget until we reach the one we have this season. The problem is they are probably playing to their abilities but unfortunately in the majority of cases this is championship level.
I know before you say they saved the club but it does not give then the right to destroy it leaving the supporters who are left to pick up the pieces.
With regards our current coach some say he cannot be blamed for our poor form but he selects the team and Fridays just made no sense at all.'"
I was thinking that too, a couple of weeks back, but then dismissed it as pure coincidence.
Shame that they had their fall out though.
Don't know what he's doing at the moment, but I don't think he's involved in the sport at all

| I do have some sympathy for Applegarth as he hasn't had the opportunity to get a full first choice team out at the same time (Probably make zero difference) but some things baffle me. The structure of attack is so amateur and no a single player has a clue what to expect, what do they actually do in training? 6 games in and the attack has been woeful in all but the Catalan game and even then the defence was garbage. Losing the experience we did was always going to be like it is, zero leaders zero captain zero inspiration, I like Ashurst but he is no captain.
I don't get how an unproven wigan youngster gets a nod over Bowes moves kay back to 9, why can't things be kept consistent there's no surprise players are playing like they have no idea. I really feel for Lino, he tries but through trying too hard he's making errors, distribution from 9 is pathetic and kills any momentum, there's no fight to win contact for a quick play the ball, there's no flailing to try and actually win a 6 again.
Confidence may be low but crowd numbers will be lower if things continue because anyone without a ticket will find much more pleasing ways to spent £27+ that watching that dross ruining an entire weekend, oh and for me get rid of Friday night games, why the obsession of a Friday is the norm I don't know. What was wrong with a TV Game Thursday and Friday and all other games on a Sunday

| The pitch is evidently a serious issue it poses a threat to player welfare. The RFL need to address the matter.
The ground itself is a shambles overpriced admittance and overpriced beverages.
The Benidorm flats are merely recycled shipping containers, the venue never has been and never will be Superleague standard regardless of the ongoing construction work.
MC announcing his resignation and Wakefield still winless with a rudderless team and an inept head Coach doesn’t bode well for the West Yorkshire outfit.

The fact that you call us the West Yorkshire outfit tells me you are in the wrong place just trying to stir things up.
PM me if you want to keep posting and we can discuss it.

He was a very good counterbalance to Carter, he didn’t let Mikes narcissistic personality run the rule over everything.
He was also the one who ran the operation elements of the club, stadium manager/club secretary/ticket manager/non playing staff manager.
He didn’t particularly get on with Carter but they both shared the same goal of keeping the club alive so they could get their money out (not that guff in Carters resignation letter).
Chris would often oppose Mike on a number of essential things and it was important that he did so because it kept a check on Carter doing some daft stuff particularly early in their tenure. Chris was also the one who knew a bit about running a Rugby club and had the local contacts that helped the club survive those early months after the takeover.

Thank you for that.
So why has his departure been the catalyst for disaster that Scarlet says?
Because off field we are better now than we were then and from your description he didn't affect on field.
I've no gripes with CB at all. I was just asking Scarlet to justify one of his silly comments.

If I answer that in full and with complete honesty I’ll get accused of character assassination and having a vendetta but my knowledge is first hand ie I’ve seen it for myself, I was in the room so to say.
Suffice to say that without Chris Breretons presence and ability to curb Mike Carters ego there’s been some poorly informed decisions made out of sheer narcissistic bloody mindedness
Now that alone will ignite the Monks of St Michael of Carter monastery to don their self flagellation devices, take up their pitchforks and chase me down like Frankensteins monster so I’ll say no more
