Its a real shame for the vast majority of the Wakefield fans who were not responsible for this type of chanting.

Visited Belle Vue for years and despite what many will say, happens to be one of my favourite RL grounds. You feel like you're on top of the pitch and the atmosphere is usually pretty good.

However, the game in question was an ugly one. Never seen that kind of reaction. It was more that a a couple of dozen but not reflective on the whole crowd.

Hopefully we get to visit again very soon and all being well it will be back to the normal great atmosphere we all enjoy!!!

It's the club's responsibility to police the crowd and prevent this. Failure to do so means punishments being handed out. 20k with half suspended seems a fair punishment

It's not just about the fine. It's on most of the online news sites and has been tweeted all day. I can just imagine the parents of children in Wakefield planning their next wholesome day out to the North Stand. Or not, perhaps.

Some yobs got a chant going and the stewards didn't sort it. Next game v Bradford there was no problem. I don't remember any burning crosses in the North Stand last Sunday.

Maybe the Northstanders should get a collection going to pay for the clubs fine?

Compared to Castlefords £40k fine for similar chanting, I think you got off very lightly indeed.

That's the whole point though. The potential fans the club is trying to entice might be put off by the report. There'll be no reports highlighting lack of it. Only the negative is aired.

Problem is that people daren't even talk about it. How many people out there think the Wakefield masses were picking on some black player or something similar that is the norm amongst eastern block country's football fans. In actual fact the whole issue boils down to the use of one word (FFS! even I daren't type it now!!!)
Are these facts out there amongst these trendy media vehicles or are these potential fans scared to turn up at Belle Vue in case it's mandatory to wear a pointy flour sack on your head.

Pay the fine, put procedures in place to prevent a recurrence, move on.

If Carter had of segregated the North Stand making it home only, like everyone had been asking for then this wouldn't have happened. There was tension in a number of games when the away fans were allowed in that stand. I dont condone the chanting but it was tit for tar with a similar "inbred" style chant.

Catalans is our next home match let's hope there's no chanting of "you're just a team full of Aussies" .
