I dont think the squads good enough, and the players in the first squad lack leadership, and a game player. Its a shame when so many things off the field seem to be in the best shape for years. Im not even sure given time things will get that much better.

Quote: asmadasa "Its the style of losing and the lack of a game plan that hurts rather than wins.

Also these are supposed to be better players than last year but I feel that there was more grunt & aggression/passion last year than this! Its concerning that agar has suggested that Collis, Kirmond & Lauititi injured or off form on the edge of defence has had a big impact on the overall performance (grasping straws?). Another 6 games of this will be enough to show him the door but if there is some good rugby and improvements back to the start of the season stuff then fair enough he should have more time.

Something has suddenly gone wrong in the pack, since Catalan and I'm struggling to clearly understand what it is?

The prop situation seems to be the main problem, Amor since the broken hand doesn't seem to be the same. The others in the pack just aren't big, nasty and mobile enough. Especially when pushing up from the defensive line.

Quote: Trinitythefuture "Putting things in perspective, many of us have been expecting too much too soon. With SL survival and the signing of bucket loads of players we have got carried away especially with the opening win at Widnes. It's very disappointing to lose most games but Agar needs this season to sort a decent team out, the players that don't fit will eventually be shown the door (personally I think Smith is one of these). Do we seriously expect to be much better than the the likes of Widnes this season ? To be honest it's between us and Widnes and maybe London for the bottom spot.
I'll be going into every game this season now hoping to see plenty of effort but won't expect a win, then if we lose the disappointment won't be as harsh.'"

Well said - couldn't agree more.

I thought bringing in Agar as coach was a poor one at the beginning of the year, I still haven't changed my mind.

okay then..last year we pulled this years squad together in 2 weeks after everybody else had signed their squads for this year (widnes had 3 months prior to us to do it!) apart from london and cas (after sykes signed) we have done ok, losing by not a big margin. agar was not even coach when the signings were made..we should all know that this season is a development one and agar should be judged from next season..lets all get behind the coach and team for the rest of the season .. remember we nearly didn't have one last year!

Just a note that does anyone the Crusaders in 2010? Had pretty much nobody signed up two months before the season started because of their financial issues. Noble pulled a whole squad together at the last minute and they finished in the play offs. So it can be done if the coaching is good enough. And from that team players like Elliot Kear, Ben Flower and Gil Dudson came through so it wasn't all about overseas players either. For me this team should be doing better by now and its time for them to prove they are worth the increase in expenditure this year.

Stop moaning and get behind the team, guys! They won't play any better if all we see, hear and read is negativity. On Friday there weren't many clapping our boys at the end besides me and my daughter. The key definition of "supporters" is that they support the team through thick and thin. Yes, there are some problems at the moment: we need more direction at half-back, more of a kicking game ( that's mainly how Cas beat us apart from the Rangi show) and more POWER in the forwards but try and see the positives too! Only three games ago we beat what is regarded as a possible grand final contender by many experts. Four games ago, we gave Warrington a damn good run for their money and they're not exactly propping up the table. So are we no hopers suddenly now? Off the field, the recent work done is very impressive and the crowds are way up on last year. Yes we've also had some bad luck with injuries but it's a chance for the promising young lads to show what they're made of. Whinging, moaning and the "sack the coach" football mentality won't turn it round for us but maybe hard work, belief and encouragement will...Come on the Trin!

The problem Agar was always going to have is that he wasn't a popular choice due to his failures at Hull and was regarded as a "jobs for the boys" appointment. He needed a good honeymoon period. Let's just say it was a short one. And that is why it was a short-sighted appointment, because it was always going to lead to this situation.

We will finish bottom.

I reserve the right to completely change my position after a false dawn of a couple of good wins, and then revert back once we lose again, and to follow it with an unrealistically optimistic view of next season.
