Correct, and if a red sox in baseball, or a blue sox in RL can be a marketable brand, then I don't see why a "Trinity" can't be one. You could argue that by abandoning the Trinity label to pander to the modern market, we've actually abandonned the one thing that sets us apart and makes us a unique brand. I didn't have a problem supporting "Trinity" as a kid. I don't see why kids these days would have a problem there either.

| please, please, please for the love of god. get rid of the wildcats moniker. it is heinous, and makes you and everything its associated with (rugby league, obviously) appear completely daft and retarded.

Which is what I would vote for.
Too young to go whole heartedly with Trinity
Too old to go with Wildcats
But if as pointed out, it encourages both the old and young then it will help put Wakey where we want them to be.

| I think from the answer that Andrew Glover gave me we can take it that WAKEFIELD TRINITY WILDCATS is the name and I for one am happy to hear that.
My fear over the last few years has been the dropping of TRINITY as part of the name, that fear was fuelled by the numerous press releases, website references, quotes and so on that only refered to Wildcats or Wakefield Wildcats.
As a footnote, I wasn't having a go at Davide, what I said was that coming from our former community manager it was understandable that the Wildcats name was used as it's been integral to the promotions used by the community team.

I've given em benefit of doubt because of their age.

| Wakefield Trinity Wildcats is a bit like that eels song from "the mighty boosh", where elements of the past and future collide to make something not as good as either. It is obvious (aside those from the Wakefield board) to many that language is a construct which signifies meaning through etymologies through cultures. As such, in quite surreal fashion - Wakefield have combined a feline animal, a bit bigger than the domestic house cat, with a word referring to the three persons of the godhead established in the ecumenical council of nicea in 325.
Am I wrong? Can you see how these name don't exactly compliment each other? Am I so out of touch with modern life that I'm only person in the world that finds the name gut wrenchingly embarrassing?

| I think the club can quite easily market Wakefield, Trinity and Wildcats ... Were lucky we have a proud history for the oldies and under Wildcats for the newbies ...

| Have you ever seen a wildcat, in all fairness if you approached one it would make a right mess of you cos they are a bit radged!! But so would a bi polar Jack Russel, and as yet I have yet to see that suffixed to any sporting club!!!

| I've never heard one kid chant "Wildcats" unlike Rhino supporters chanting "Rhino's". St Helen's do well with "Saints" so why not "Trinity?" keep the "Wildcats" for junior sections, some marketing but not the first team.
