| Quote Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo="Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo"You won't dislodge Box from his safe seat. The only way to get him out is to get opposition councillors elected in the other, more marginal, seats. Labour loses it's majority and control of the Council and therefore the right to nominate the Council Leader.
Nothing I can do as Labour is probably the only Political Party I have never voted for in any election.'"
Box's seat is Altofts and it isn't as safe as you would think. Earlier this year Darren Travis was elected in the Altofts ward with a majority of around 300 and the turnout was high for a council election because of the general election which was on the same day. The next set of council elections are not at the same time as a general election which means that the turnout will be a lot smaller. This low turnout effects the incumbent and the favoured party more because more people turn out to vote for change rather than to preserve the status quo. So to cut a long story short there is a real chance that Box could loose his seat on the council at the next set of elections.

| Quote newgroundb4cas="newgroundb4cas"As i have said time and time again. The problem we have is the main player on the council is a cas and a former cas season ticket holder its a joke. You reckon if Box was a Wakey fan this would have taken so long? The answer is no as he has no passion in the club to drive this along .Its a joke and he is very biased . Its very simple if his heart and soul was in wakey the bricks would be down by now . Why are cas even getting a look in? They are a small town in Wakefield! I tell you why they are getting a look in and don't look no further than the 3 letters and its made from cardboard !

A stupid post.
The WMDC has helped your club out plenty of times in the past (if they hadn't you wouldn't have a team to support),and will do so again on the 22nd Oct.
Good luck Trin fans by the way

That is very true but they have also done stuff in the past that have not been what you would term helpful.
Don't get drawn into NGB4C's posts most of them are laughable at best.

| It does seem odd, nothing against Wakey but your signings appear to be building towards a top Championship club.

Come back when you earn (and maintain) the right to be in the elite division.
Fax have a far better chance if promotion, and rightly so in my eyes.

| Quote altofts wildcat="altofts wildcat"Box is up for re-election in May so we have the chance to get him off the council then. Also Wakefield council is run by Labour on a majority of 1 i think so come the next election we may have a change of local government which surely can only be bennificial to us if we can get rid of Box.'"
I very much doubt Labour will lose it majority in Wakefield in May and in fact my guess it is very likely to increase reasonably significantly. The, who ever is in Whitehall is not in the Town Hall, theory is going apply I suspect given the areas political history.
Also, I have not checked, but I thought the Labour majority of 1 increased to 3 or 4 in May, which means that after 13 years of Labour in Whitehall with record lows in the polls, they never lost control of Wakefield. I am not aware of Cllr Box last election majority so he may well be under threat but with the cuts I would still think Labour is likely to increase it's overall majority in May.

Quote TRB="TRB"Serious question here. How does a one piece of land (albeit a sligtly larger one) cover 60% of the build cost? I am sure that there are other factors in the make up of the Cas budget, but I just can't see how that bit works - the price of land is very low at the moment, there is the CSR coming and house prices have just gone down again, markedly. There is also the factor that the Hicksons site will have residential land for sale - although not for a while - and there is a chunk of land at Fryston for housing as well.
I can't even tell you the exact percentages of the NM build - partly because it is fluctuating all the time, so I'm just trying to understand the raionale behind the 60% figure?
What you say about the Wildcats is absolutely spot on!
'"
The land for the new stadium has been given to Cas (20 acres) by the owners and future builders of the stadium, Waystone - www.castigers.com/article.php?id=942
So without having to pay for land the money from the sale of the Jungle and surrounding area goes directly to the construction costs.

| From what I can gather that's spot on.
Problem being the option for the purchase of WR ends in Oct 2011.
Meaning unless you can get Ben Bailey to stump up the cash before you move out or persuade your builders to work on credit/partial payment you could be in a mess in terms of unlocking the funding within the time-scale required.
If that should happen I've heard Keepmoat touted around, which I find unbelievable should (should being the operative word) NM be complete.
If the 22nd goes our way I think NM will move with great speed.
After all our developers will know this time next week if the application has been given a recommendation to approve & with which recommended conditions- which I'm sure they will be working at speed to rectify in light of the future full application; which will rapidly be submitted from what has been said by SWAG and YK.

Well I suppose it is better to be building towards a top Championship side than a mid-table Championship side like Widnes this season.

In the "Hicksons" thread i alluded to the point that your 3rd biggest shareholder claims to have it from RW's mouth that the option has not been exercised.
If you are correct, and I'm not saying your not, you should be all systems go and fair play and good luck. But I urge you to remind yourself of the pace things have moved under RW. Keep up the pressure!!
Look how far YK have come in such a short space of time.
The article neither says how much the ground has been sold for or when the Tigers will get the funds, even more worryingly nobody from BB was able to comment.
