Is this now the end of the beginning.

I would call it more the true beginning of the start. Wonderful news that the dream is now turning into reality

As a new poster and a fan of over 50years (I was at Wembley for the last time we won the Challenge Cup in 1963) I would like to add my congratulations to everybody at Yorkcourt and Wiska for the effort put into getting us to this point in the process of achieving our ambitions.It must be in the long term interests of the council to make a speedy decision on the matter, not only for the jobs it will bring to the area but also for the amount of business rates that will be payable once the whole project is completed. I look forward to sitting in the Neil Fox or David Topliss stand, visiting the Brian Briggs Burgerbar and the Peter Box toilet facilities !!

Did anyone see in the Wakefield express this Friday an article 'power station' plan approved.

In it it says that the residens on Newmarket Lane lost a battle against proposals for a 'power Station' this week.

Basically the plans are for a development that will turn methane at the old colliery into electricity 24hrs a day, seven days a week for up to 25 years. Plannin officers recommended the application for approval.

Surely this will only strengthen our planning application ?

Yes Phil its good news, but hardly a big hurdle.

It was only a matter of time the application went in, the real work starts now.

It’s not as if W.M.D.C. are going to just rubber stamp this application any time soon.

I hope that the debacle over T.P. is not mimicked in any way. I’ve no idea how much influence certain councillors have in the planning procedure, but, it fills me with dread when there are conflicts of interest in the higher echelons of the council.

The application will be bouncing back and forth between YorkCourt & the Town Hall for an age, as the council planners pick it to bits and demand amendments. I just hope at the end of the day, when it finally comes before the Councillors, they don’t let us down again.

I think the reason for the delay in submission is that the has been some 'foreplay' going on already and we all hope that this part is already sorted
