Not sure what to think of Brian Smith. Read mixed comments about him.

Well he's certainly not inexperienced, and has a grounding in the UK.

I'd certainly rate him above our last 2 coaches.
Whether he can inspire our current squad is something we'll find out soon ??

To be fair I'd rate above most of our coaches. Like you say only time will tell if he can get something out of the current squad.

What about Kieron Purtill of the Giants. He would fit in. Friendly with the players.

Well Brian Smith would be an excellent choice to put some structures in place for the longer term. Definitely not the cheap option this time around but if he can turn the ship around it'll be worth it.

Spot on Bully, the club needs a complete revamp from the very bottom all the way through to the SL squad. Brian Smith, by reputation, will not only arrest the slide but will also instigate systems that will set the club up for the future.

What he needs is an assistant coach who can learn from him in the same way Matty Elliott, Brian Noble, Ian Millward etc did during his time at Hull, Bradford, Illawarra etc.

He will have far far more pulling power on players down under than any of our previous coaches and will also know the right players to recruit.

I'm very happy with this appointment, time will tell though.
