Can't help wondering whether his problem was that he was at a club that paid him well, perhaps more than he'd get at other clubs, but was never going to win anything, so complacency set in for him. If he'd had to bust a gut at Melbourne or Roosters, he might have been top drawer for longer.

I know you could apply the same analogy with us, but he won't have to bust a gut to excel here, as the standard isn't at NRL standard.

Would be a decent signing. Like him as a player just needs to cut the penalties out etc.

Seems with Prior and this rumour now that Leeds have their eye on a few WC players. I’d rather us look at some of these WC players ourselves tbf.

I think Anthony Tupou was a conduit to us signing a number of decent overseas players.. and Proctor could be the same…

I think the biggest barrier is the vast ( and growing) salary expectations of ex NRL players

Pretty sure it Was Tupou that brought/spoke to Arona and Dave to the club (think they mentioned this in the heritage podcasts)

The thing about having three quota spots left and waiting for the WC to end is that there are some real deals to be had. The players we sign don't have to have played in the WC, what we are waiting for IMO is the fallout.

If rich clubs like Leeds or whoever see someone they want in the WC they will go to great length to get rid of what they don't want. This is especially relevant given the number of new brooms at many clubs.

We may not be able to compete for the real stars of the WC but we are in a terrific position to pick up some bargain deals for some quality players. Just because there faces no longer fit at their current clubs doesn't mean they won't fit nicely with us.

Can’t argue with that tbh. If the money is right he can play loose and cover prop if needed.
