| 3 years on the face of it seems a very good deal for the player. Wakey refer to the capture of Owen as a utility back, could be they have plans with regards to his position.

Without a recognised specialist fullback other than young Jowitt any one of Hall, Riley, Owen and Sammut could end up playing at 1.

| Owens 3 year deal could be a little bit more than one of Vince Mellors 3!
You never know?
A couple of loan signings in the backs and everybody's glass will suddenly be half full, instead of crying over spilt milk, as people are doing now.

| He's going to be wearing a Trinity shirt so good luck to him. The club has a tendency to bring the best out of players to help re-launch their careers. From what I've seen in games he's played he's got some ability so I hope he gets some form and scores 15/20 tries next season.

| I'm cautiously optimistic about Owen.
As others have said, he's still only relatively young and scored about 1 in 2 for Cas when they were fairly poor.
3 years maybe a bit much, but hey ho, I rate him higher than Fox and Cockayne. Riley on the other wing, not too shabby.

| To be honest, he probably found his feet quicker than any of the other new boys.
Took Scruton a while. The overseas guys had flashes but gradually got better. Even Riley didn't just burst out on his first game.
With an off season and Webster spending time with him, he may be a good addition.
As I've said before he is good with ball in hand, can take a high balland seemed to latch on once Smith arrived.
He is a bit dodgy in defence when players are pouring through on his wing but that can be as much about confidence in your inside man so off season will help him with that.

| I think it's a good move for Ritchie - you need to give him a chance and if he gets his groove back he will be scoring 15 plus tries a season for you. He'll be happy with the security of 3 years.

| So a back line of
Hall
Owen
Collis
Lynn
Riley
Godinet
Smith
With Sammut, Jowett and Johnstone to cover looks good to me.

| Quote: newgroundb4cas "Strange we reward a player that had given so little apart from 2 games he was here one against Cas and other against Widens rest of the time he didn't try and got a telling off on several occassions by Tim Smith for not bothering to run. We should have just loaned a better winger and saves cash. I will not here the club moaning about money when we waste it like that for 3 years. I have seen more life in a tramps vest than Richard Owen. Worse signing of the lot!!!'"
Bit of a character assassination there. Whilst I would agree he doesn't always look like he is up for it, I think to say he only put effort in in two games is just rubbish.
You suggest loaning a better winger and saving cash - perhaps you can actually name someone better who we could have loaned for less cash (will be interesting to see as I'm pretty sure you have absolutely no idea a) how much Owen's contract is worth and b) how much it would cost us to pay someone else's loan fee). You are great at identifying problems but never offer any viable solution.
Is there a reason that you have to have someone to pick on each year? Are you jealous that people get to play rugby for a living whilst you have to "work" for your immense salary?? I don't know you personally and I can honestly say I have no desire to ever meet you as you come across as rather a vile individual.

| Hasn't always been my favourite, but he got better as time went on; Webster obviously sees something in him and that will do for me - I hope he regains his pre-inury form and gets his career back on track.

| I still feel we're a little light in the centres.
