| No matter how people try to dress these things up, and all the cant that comes from the we will do it brigade,( how many tickets were sold?)
The apathy that this city has for its sporting clubs RUGBY UNION gone to the wall, WAKEFIELD F.C. stuggles.
It should be up to us to give that lead NO EXSCUSES.
All i can say is for all the people who do try sorry that the support you richly deserve was not forthcomming..

| Have to admit I didn't agree with a celebration yet, theres way too many hurdles to get over yet. All we are is back where we were in October 2010 when the council granted permission. There are still no guarantees that it will be built as there are more battles to come. The Methley residents are appealing the decision for starters and there are question marks over the funding levels we will have to build it with. As it stands it sounds like Yorkcourt don't have the funds to do anything, so until FPP is granted and the council release the £2million nothing at all will happen.
It would be nice to hear the true FACTS about the state of play as they stand, not positive spin or trying to protect the innocent, but and actual account of the plan and the possible pitfalls from now on in. Keep the people in the loop and up to date. Its a community stadium, engage the community. I'm afraid a lot of the information that has been but out in the public domain is rather woolly and as such people seem to think that then stadium is now a given. Believe me it is anything but and there a fews things that we need to know.
For instance has the section 106 agreement been signed and submitted yet? If not why not and why wasn't it already in place?
What are the grants we are going for and what impact on the design will they have? What are the chances of succesful applications?
What is the true state of play regarding Yorkcourt need to sell and build the B8 prior to the stadium build? Has any actually been sold yet?
How will the requirement for an archaeological dig on the site impact the build time?
When will FPP be applied for? Is it ready for submitting immediately? Who is paying for this?
Will Yorkcourt actually be doing the stadium build or will it be sub-contracted out to a company like, say, Langtree?
I'm sure there are other questions that could be asked but I think a few people would like to know the truth of the situation as it stands to stop the rumours that continue to circulate that the warehousing will be built but stadium will never actually happen.
That said what the members of SWAG have done should be highly commended as without their unwavering efforts then we wouldn't be in the position we are today. People like Phil & Jonathon have, and continue to, put their shoulders to the wheel to get better facilities for the club and should be given life memberships of the club whatever happens from now on in. Even if one is a rhino! But the people at the top, the trust board, Colin Mackey etc need to lay it on the line so we know exactly where we are now and where and when we are going to get where we want to be. Lets have some flesh on the bones please.

Thats not to say that i'm not eternally grateful to the certain people who have gone way beyond the call of duty to get us where we are today. But i'll not be celebrating til the damn thing is built. 30 years of being a wakey fan has made me ever the pessimist! '"
Likewise I'm afraid. Not quite 30 years, but until I'm in it, I won't believe it! (That and I work weeknights so miss most of these things!)

That was the purpose of the Event. The Forum/Q & A was for Supporters to ask the questions you have raised. The panel would have answered the questions that they could and those that they could not would have been put to YorkCourt and the Wakefield & District Community Trust. SWAG and the ST have been having meetings with YorkCourt and the WDCT right up to the Public Inquiry and gave evidence in the PI and that relationship is proposed to continue.
By the way Methley Residents cannot appeal the decision of the Secretary of State as far as I'm aware. What they can do is seek a Judicial Review if they believe and have evidence that the procedure of the Inquiry was not followed correctly. They must have some good evidence and plenty of cash if they are taking that route and all they would stop is the Stadium as the B8 developments will be approved in the LDF.

You’ve pretty much covered my ‘concerns’ about the scheme. I asked early if anyone had an idea if any progress had been made on the S106 agreement. This in itself would go a long way to ensure the stadium would be built as opposed to just the warehousing.

I think that would be the 15th August when the S106 agreement is to be submitted. Although the funding depends on the take up of units which in itself cannot be confirmed until at the very least outline planning permission has been granted. Bit of a chicken and egg situation.

| Once the trust has licked its wounds and got back up we need to decide how the questions and answers are best to be collated and disseminated. this forum may be the way we get people to say whether they want to send questins in or whether they would like to meet the people with the answers in a forum style event at Belle vue.
topic for discussion?

| I'd expect in August when the conditions have been met and we get the go ahead there will be a forum or announcement with York court WTRLFC and the community trust explaining what's happening. Until then we will have to just believe or dismiss the rumours that will be doing the rounds both positive & negative.

| I'm sure there are people who will never attend one of these things, some who attend all, and some who pick and choose based on what it is.
I tend to go to Audience With nights when there are interesting guests, but stuff like stand up bingo is just naff so I wouldn't bother.
I'd have thought the most obvious questions most would want answering is what happens next, how far away are we from playing in a new stadium?

Stand up bingo may or may not be naff but it was the money it would have raised that was important because it was all to be given to the Wildcats Community Trust to support the excellent work they do in our local communities. It was to have been a Charity Event.
The obvious question probably would have been answered or if not the answer found out.
