i went to a game at belle vue a long time ago when Jonathan davies was playing for widnes. he received the ball just in front of his own posts - terrace end - he dummied and he sent the whole defensive line the wrong way . ran the full length of the pitch and scored - i think ! Blooming amazing !

Best try I ever saw at Belle Vue that. They won the scrum right on their own line against the head and Hulme passed to Davies although I think Currier may have received it first. He goaled it from the touchline too if my memory serves me right.

Fergus, I remember that try very well. In nearly 30 years of following RL that is still for me the best try I have ever seen. He was truly untouchable, no one could tackle him!

Great - some people remember his try. I wasn't a real trinity fan then but a young lad playing union so was dead keen to see him play. And yes, must agree, it was easily best try ever seen - what a player.

Think they signed Rinaldi and Korki though. I would imagine Purdham moving to be closer to family
