| Quote: bren2k "The situation that was described to me is that one stays up and one goes down, but both are reassessed in 12 months rather than 3 years; the club able to demonstrate that it's delivering the stadium it promised in its 2011 application gets a SL licence until the end of the licence period, bringing both clubs back into line with the normal licencing timetable.
It seems to me to be a solution that achieves the RFL's objective whilst demonstrating fairness to both clubs and let's face it, any organisation that can deliver a £15 million stadium whilst we're in the depths of a global financial crisis deserves kudos; it'll be no mean feat on the part of whomever pulls it off.'" so lets stay Cas stay up and Wakey go down,
we have to rely on the council to pass the stadium for Wakefield within a year errrm run by a Cas supporter
oh dear

I also haven't discounted the 1 year licence for 2 clubs scenario, with both being reassessed on stadium progress when that year is up; with Cas & Wakey both finally showing substantive progress on new stadia after years of obfuscation, broken promises and downright lies, it doesn't feel beyond the realms of possibility.'"
Ive had the exact same thing again said to me today that's 2 different people whos views I respect told me this is going to happen + a few people on here heard it too. It maybe true maybe false we will find out soon enough. He also said D Powell next seasons coach with new backroom staff and J Kear has already said his goodbyes to the players

Nigel Wood, the RFL’s chief executive, said: “The independent RFL board will ultimately decide which of the 15 clubs will be awarded the 13 remaining licences, and their decisions will be based on the detailed and comprehensive assessment of each club’s application, a process which is very close to completion.”
How many clubs actually put in an application?
There seems to be only us and Castleford mentioned in this respect - did all SL clubs plus Halifax (and Widnes) put in an application?

The 14 current clubs plus Halifax. Barrow applied but failed to meet the criteria and so dropped out.
The whole thing is a charade to promote a sense of fair evaluation, when everyone in the game, including us, have guessed at it being us for more than a year (except for that very short period when Newmarket was looking imminent). To relegate anyone but us would astound everyone, and so why would the RFL make it hard for themselves.
And prepare for some chicanery from Crusaders immediately afterwards, given that at least one player hasn't been paid for three months, by all accounts.

| If we are kicked out and it comes to light that in fact we didnt have the weekest application, would the club have any grounds to take legal action? Or would it just not be financially viable anyway?

The very first page of the application waives a clubs right to take legal action on any decision the RFL makes, this has to be signed for the application to be valid, just shows how bent the RFL are.

none whatsoever, i keep banging on about this but no one seems to get it, its a franchise to play in their league, like kfc or neros, you ask to be part of their product and at any time your franchise can be revoked,
we have asked nicely to be part of the SL brand, if we are turned down we just lose the rights to use that brand, in all honesty they dont even need to be open about the criteria, which of course by keeping scoring secret they are not.
this is NOT sport, its franchising, wake up and smell whats left of the roses.

dont start me on rose quotes!
i like
when the petals fall off the rose the bees dont come around as often.
its is used to descibe in rose terms our attendances this year, and if it turns up in a book, by anyone, my lawyers are watching.

No we don't - they've already passed it; we have to rely on Mr Pickles.

Maybe not quite so clear. I believe that the RFL recognise the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) so therefore clubs can refer disputes here if they feel they have been unfairly treated.
