Don't think that the last bit of the name works, might be best to leave it off?

| I could argue that since Cas is just a small town in the seething metropolis that is Wakefield, 2:1 on naming rights is a fair ratio.
I would't do that though, as it would be inflammatory.
As for binks' idea - imagine the force we'd be in RL if WTW, CT and FR were to join forces at NM; within 3 years, we'd be the dominant RL club in West Yorkshire and have that lot on the wrong side of the M62 looking over their shoulders.

If the Super Club was formed my belief is that for every 1 old timer that said "I wont go again" within 5 years 2 more fans would of come in, An average of 10000 would not be the impossible dream.
It may be that a company made up of all 3 clubs is formed using the model of the Australian Super 15 clubs, ie State super teams( West Riding Trinity Tigers ) But with the 3 feeder clubs still playing in the lower tiers??
I would go but also accept alot wouldnt,

So a net loss of 7000 fans on the fans currently watching the 3 separate teams.
No thanks.
Wakey, without a doubt, have 10k in their sights for the not too distant future and I'm sure Cas, at least in DickyWrightWorld, have too.
NOTE: DickyWrightWorld is in the top 10 visitor attractions in the Cas area, following such gems as Xscape, Diggerland and Greggs (Pontefract). Dicky lives there with his imaginary builders.

NOTE
You really are a bitter soul, Alot is said on here about posters on Cas forum being fixated with NM failing! Maybe you should start WakeyForum as you fit right in with them. As Newton said "Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear."

| Merger talk is stupid and will not happen. Don't understand why it keeps getting brought up really.
Back to the public enquiry, questions on when the stadium will be built from Cubbage, apparently it will be built as soon as soon as possible, timed to fulfil license criteria.

If it were to happen, I'm certain that after a few years (given some success on the field of play) attendances would be significantly higher than that; double your 10k would be a reasonable aspiration. There is a terrific amount of latent support for RL in the District, but the enthusiasm has been sucked out of many people by the lack of top flight success of any of the clubs in question. A bit of glory would see them flooding back.
The Aussie model is a decent comparison; a feeder club in NL1 (Wakefield Cubs?) with an academy system underpinning both, creating a recognised pathway to the SL team via youth and feeder teams - it would become the natural choice for all talented youngsters from the district, stopping both the regular raids by 'bigger' clubs and the over-reliance (ours more than yours) on overseas journeymen. If the whole sysyem was backed up by a sports science team, an education and welfare function and a top drawer commercial and marketing dept, it would put the willies up the rest of SL.
From a purely pragmatic perspective, it makes perfect sense; I accept however that there's a lot more to it than that and for those other reasons, is unlikely to happen.

This is something that has merit and has in the past been mooted for Cumbria. What would concern me though is taking cost factors into account people are unlikely to watch both the new top teir team and the feeder clubs, they will pick their old club or the new one. So is there going to be enough fans going to games, buying merchandise etc to keep a new club and the 3 traditional clubs going or would they just wither away and die over time?

So potentially it could be a case of building to start late 2013, through 2014 when the licences are announced and ready for the start of the new period in february 2015 then.

The only issue with that being the sticking plaster to BV only has permission for 2 years, so either that would need an extension or the club will have to find somewhere else to play for the 2014 season.

| I'm afraid we would have to create a new name if all three clubs were to combine
We would have to drop the Wildcats as a compromise and then with THREE clubs from within WAKEFIELD combining the obvious name is:
WAKEFIELD TRINITY
Strip would by Red & Blue of Wakefield, White from Fev and black piping from Cas

| Hopefully that would be the case, there would surely be a way to get around the Belle Vue problem?
If not we might have to do a St Helens and up sticks for a season. Which would have a very negative impact on our attendances.

Next thing people will be saying let merge all three clubs, play in Red/White/Blue home kit with Blue n White Fev socks and Amber/Black kit away games with Blue/White fev socks.. and call us Wakefield Miners....
