| It's a job. He had better prospects at Rovers. He made the right decision.

| Quote Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo="Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo"Allowed?
The days of clubs being in control of who leaves and who stays disappeared way way back. Money talks. Do you think Salford will be "allowed" to keep all their star players if new investors don't emerge soon?
Might help some fans move on a bit now. He's been very visible kissing the Rovers badge for some time so an extension isn't surprising. I very much doubt that he's been sat there wanting Matt Ellis to offer him a wad to move back either.'"
Mrs EW and our daughter have rubbed this in a bit tonight. I can't deny it, I'm disappointed about this. Out of all the players "allowed to leave", as it was put, this is the one, I would have loved reversing, if I'm honest, more so than TJ.
I do get where Trojan is coming from, given, that as a club, who our CEO wasn't shy of stating we were spending well under the cap, which I dont deny, was happy to waste money on such Proctor, Gaskell and Lineham, but yet let him go so easily.
As for going for the money, we need to remember, we are all working under the same cap, so there probably won't be massive increases if a player goes from one club to another.
A certain CEO of another club said to me during my time at Wakefield, that there isnt usually much leeway in terms of salary increases when a player moves on, and is more about how the club is sold to the player.
We now need to move on, and support the players we have, and hopefully keep the better ones

Nobody said he has beem waiting for Trinity to offer a deal other than you in your post. Nowhere I have seen has it been evident that fans are unable to move on from a player loss 2 years ago, I feel your confusing making a comment on a past event/player loss for more than it actually is. Discussing the loss of a past player shouldn’t automatically bring out the “fans need to move on” statement.
Batch was allowed to leave by the previous regime because they weren’t willing to offer the amount to retain his services. Clubs can influence their control of a players services with a number of factors. That’s just business.

| But that implies it was in our control.
He may have just wanted to go to a club on the up and have the same prospects as his brother.
Our trajectory was only down at that time.

Our trajectory was down but I’m sure of if I recall it was regularly commented on at the time Trinity weren’t willing to offer what he wanted to stay and then he ended up going to kr. That is what I meant by him being allowed to leave by the clubs choice not to pay (probably what he was worth).

Batch bought a house in Hull 6 month before it was announced he was leaving .Think we have a few young second row players who can do as good a job if not better .

| Batch has played at Wembley and Old Trafford for HKR in his 2 years since he moved, he moved for better prospects, a more stable environment and bigger opportunities - has has received all of that in his first 24 months, plus he is part of the leadership group. We are a different beast now to what we were in 2022 and beyond, I'm really happy for Batch and wish him well. There's no need for resentment and bitterness about the past, time to move on and enjoy what Trinity are in 2025+

Agree about wasting money on those 3 players One of the main reasons why we went down But as you say move on

| I’m going to break my silence on this one.
Batch and Carter had fallen out in a big way after Carter offered him less for his next contract than he was currently on.
Their relationship, if that’s what you call it, had broken down beyond repair and Batch was not going to sign a contract at Wakefield while ever Carter was still involved.
I’m sure the higher value contract at HKR helped his decision and I’m also sure he saw a move as a way of securing his Superleague career but the catalyst for him leaving was the breakdown in relations and what Batch felt was disrespect from MC.

Wow.
Definately in our own hands then.
You can't blame the lad for going at all.
Still people will continue to defend that action, by our then CEO.

And some people keep attacking the actions by our then CEO without Knowing all the facts .All I can say is very pleased he was there for us and think the proof is in the way Bell View looks now .And if he was as bad as some fans make out ,how come the R L ask him to go on the panel to sort Salford out

Didn't you say that someone in the know told you there isn't much difference in salaries?
You can't have it both ways.
At the end of the day Carter offered him what he thought he deserved and Batch disagreed.
It's how things work.
Without knowing the details its hard to say whether Carter was right or wrong, but he had to balance the books so couldn't just pay anything.
