I think you are getting close to trolling on your own board now. I have seen countless pointless posts on the Cas forum - please do not bring this to this forum and let's concentrate on the Wakefield stadium and not what anyone else is doing, or not, as the case may be!

ah of course, what visit to the Rugby would be complete without a game of laser tag? or climbing up a plastic wall? or paying a fiver for a pint of beer?
If it does get built (touch wood) - i for one certainly wouldn't be hanging around in the Chav Mecca for my pre and after match activities. Although of course I know plenty of people who love nothing more than a Skiing session before they head off to the rugby.

About 4 years and they are still levelling it off.

Should be a great playing surface then.
As it goes I reckon this is the best chance both clubs have of securing new grounds its now or never for the both of us, though Cas are probably in a stronger position in reality because if their ground doesn't materialise then they (as much as the fans and probably the club would hate it) have every right to use the community stadium in Stanley if we are successful in our own bid. Should Stanley fail and Glasshoughton come off then it would be curtains for us as I can't see RW etal offering a helping hand. This is an opportunity that we simply cannot afford to miss, the wheels are in motion, we have the right team in place to take us forward, we have the best volunteer group going and only miminal disruption will be caused due to the project. The only backing we need now is the councils, Wakefield is in regeneration, now the City could have its own modern sporting arena and complex and it won't cost the council anything to build it, with the Olympics coming up surely they have to back this project and provide facilities and amenities for future sports stars and fans alike.

Come on, bring up your usual counter argument for it www.skysports.com/tv_show/story/ ... 22,00.html
Have you forgot about this, back in July on national tv.

| Don't know if anyone sent in any letters to the Express in support of the stadium but it's no surprise what they chose to print. In the interests of balance there should've been one for and one against. Although technically the discontent appears to be against the industrial units rather then the stadium.

Where exactly have you been paying 5 quid a pint? i personally do think xscape is expensive for drinks, but no more so than wakefield town centre.
Where is this plastic wall, of the two climbiing walls at glasshoughton one is made of ice, one wood.
You dont think a family might want to to take there kids skiing or surfing (which they may have never had the opportunity to do before) if the facilities are right in front of them?
A few years ago me and some mates used to go to the cinema after the match, sometimes this also extended to bowling, pool or lazer tag. No we have to walk one minute after the game instead of 30 i think we might do so again.
You may not choose use any of the facilities at glasshoughton on match days but others will, the site already averages 3000 visitors a day,so clearly people do want to shop, eat and be entertained there, its not a great leap of logic to see that many rl fans would also want to use these facilities (and that many already do).
I think i just figured out what IHC stands for on your username.

Any bloke from Cas or an away supporter who's struggling to get his 'pass signed' by his Mrs to go to the match, need only say to her. "I'll take you to Glasshoughton love, you have an afternoon shopping and I'll walk up to the game, and see you for a chinky/curry afterwards."
If marketed right by Cas this could be a big draw for them, so good luck to them. I hope we both get our grounds and shove two fingers up to the RFL and to all the doomsayers from other clubs (usually ones in new stadiums who used to have h0les).
Merry Christmas

Oh there's no doubting that Xscape is a good venue for entertainment/shopping/eating etc. I just don't think that having it near your new ground will make a massive impact on attendances, because anyone who would be going to the game anyway wouldn't be swayed by the fact that it's there. Although the train station that comes with it is obviously very useful. I genuinely hope it comes off for Cas, but just feel that a little too much is being made of having Xscape there as some kind of massive benefit
Also you are right about the IHC, but that comes from yeeaarrs ago when I was about 16 - and I don't really it should now really be TrinityI 2HC.
