| We all know he is going nowhere, why should he because despite what we can all see he is safe. This is not a position anyone else would be and sadly he will only leave when relegation is obvious which is probably next week because he actually believes he is a SL coach.
I thought I read that the club were looking to extend his contract.

Doing some good things, but it's never quite enough. We have some decent players but we're no giving them a chance with how we play. There was on set where Jowitt, Senior, Johnstone, Lyne all drove the ball up in our 10, unsurprisingly we made little ground. And with the pace all on the inside Catalans could safety bunch up in the middle and rush us.
It's getting to a stage we're we keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a change, I fear unless there is a change we will be very much fighting to stay up. After so many years we may have run out of lives.'"
Yep....as MC is unlikely to sack Chester then, as someone else suggested last week, it's time to move him sideways to Director of Rugby, or something similar, and give Last or Poching a go before it's too late !!

| I’ll stick to what i said last week, for me Chester has until the end of the month to save his job. Nothing improves it becomes untenable.
Next 3 are Saints & Hull away and Catalans at home. Good luck with that.

| We are unfortunately reaping what we have sown by continuing with a failing coach and recruitment this season on the cheap. We have gone into the season with the same stale squad with only one addition. It was in a position we needed but we also needed a couple of props.
The post would involve in him having nothing to do with coaching or player selection or recruitment.

If he was to go, and if we are running the club on a tight budget, would we not be better off using some of that money on squad strengthening

I know he saved the club in 2013, but keeping up with these performances, with no consequences, then I fear we are heading for the championship, and if that happens, i fear not for the immediate future but also the long term future of the club.
Tongue in cheek comments though, like him offering to sell the club doesn't help some feelings towards his heartfelt commitment to the club, by a minority of fans.
Also, some forget, he's bo longer the chairman, so if he's not willing, or comfortable in sacking a coach, then maybe that decision maybe taken out of his hands

| That's the problem say Last goes head coach we are still left with the panic buying of Mr Chester We are run on a tight budget. Some players will have to be moved on to get cash for new players But can not see many takers for the players who Mr Chester brought apart from Wasterman, and maybe Pitts
.Westerman as gone well and is by far the best of the bunch

| What is helping Chester is the fact that there are no crowds so he could be oblivious to the criticism he is receiving. When the crowds return he could be enduring very vocal criticism of him and how the team are performing.

| You can’t knock the effort from the lads in the first three games but effort can only get you so far. The team simply does not have the smarts to be able to unlock defences. They had enough ball in that first half to inflict damage but they lack attacking shape and do not know how to effectively use the ball when in possession.
The hooking issue does not help for sure but I don’t buy CC’s line that the messianic soon to be 32 Kyle Wood is the salvation to crossing the try line because he is not; Harry Bowes showed enough at the back end of last year to justify selection and there’s no better time to play him when he’ll be coming into a team which is not patched together with a load of young kids but full of seasoned veterans. The fact is that our inability to score is more fundamental and deep-rooted than who plays at 9 and it has plagued us for some time – since around the time JK left us coincidentally. Our only score today came yet again from another piece of TJ magic and therein lies the root of the problem – we heavily rely on moments of individual brilliance to try and win games. Those feats unfortunately do not win matches and the results over the last two years or so tell you that. The second half attacking masterclass from Catalans starkly highlighted what is so glaringly, and disappointingly, missing from our style of play - a collective and structured attack.
It’s not as if we have not had enough time to get basic attacking structures right; there’s been plenty of time in an extended pre-season to do that. That then raises the question what’s been going on during the off season in training. Either CC has been doing what he should be doing and the players are just not able to execute on the field or CC is unable to coach his team how to attack and break-down defences and so come match day they end up playing the off the cuff and ad lib football which we’ve been bemoaning for some time.
Whatever the answer, the inability to post points when we have the ball in hand is absolutely killing us - and add to that today we saw some indiscipline from senior players which seemed to be borne out of frustration at the way we are playing.
I like CC but he devoid of ideas and unable to get us out of our present demise. If the clock is not already ticking then it should be. There comes a point when we have to say enough is enough. MC was wise enough to bring in Andy Last so if CC can’t turn things around in the very near future then AL should get the nod. We can’t continue as we are otherwise we’ll just sleepwalk into relegation and obscurity.
