You may think I need to take the tinted specs off but I think you just need to start wearing some specs, if you can't see that there's been no improvement on structure or putting on moves.
I can bet that even when Smith isn't in front of the cameras, he's positive and makes players that aren't as talented as what we've got,believe in themselves.
Take for instance George King, I was underwhelmed with his signing but people said he was going to be the next big thing. At Wakey he's not been used properly, I expect him to be used correctly and given a specific role at HKR and let's see what he does.

Both the aforementioned above were known to prefer to be in Hull unless ridiculous offers came in. I doubt we could match Hull KR's let alone better it.

He was good at what he did but isn't irreplaceable.

Smith is an excellent coach and I'd probably say better than Chester..... But that doesn't make Chester rubbish.

When King signed, people were saying in the next few years he would be one of the best British forwards about.
I would say in his 2 years at Wakey, he's stood still if not gone backwards.
But it looks like in the next couple of years he may prove to be a quality British forward.

I was thinking the same, he's usually very dour and evasive in the post match interviews but last night he was almost bouncing.

This is true, especially the 'possibility of improvement', also Wilzay is right, a 'solid grafter'.
He was never going to break any pots but used better, we could have got more from King.
Playing him off the bench was a waste of a substitute. He was never going to come on and change a game.
James Hassan at Salford was the same, came with some great stats but ended up at Wakey.
Unfortunately in his stint with us, he again was played off the bench and that wasn't his game.
Nick Scruton reminds me of what King and Hassan are, they need to start the game and play big minutes, because what you get in the first minute, you'll get in the last minute.

Correct and this is when the coach should earn his corn ,turning these so-called average players into a fighting forced be reckoned with and then sprinkled with a bit of quality in the playing department to guide them around .A lot harder to get average players playing at the top of their game week in week out than supposedly top draw players who have the class in bucket loads.From what I’ve seen so far since the restart our coach is finding it the hardest to get the best out of our players compared to the teams around us .Take that as you will ,is the coach not good enough to get the best out of the players or are the players simply not listening to him ,bit of both or something else entirely.whatever the problem is ,it would be nice to be going into next season not hoping Toronto are in the league as a safety net for us ,as the more I see the teams around us performing as they are the more I worry .

Not sure of the rolling eyes as my post was in made from the context of poptart's post, and not in anyway a slur on the signing or the ability of King HTH, I'm not sure why Wakefield signed George King perhaps you have a theory yourself which you'd like to share on here.

George King in his last 3 seasons at Warrington started 4 games and was a substitute 48 times. Just let that sink in...

We have to accept that until the club realise he is costing them money in lost revenue he is going nowhere. It is not actually winning or losing but the manner in which we play the games. This is either down to the team not following his game plan or Chester not having a game plan.

He wasn’t down the pecking order in 2016 when he made 27 appearances ALL from the bench! That was under the same coach he’ll be playing for next season...let that sink in....
