| Yes, I would also take him back.
Here is another thought regarding hooker, but not 100% certain.
If Anthony Tupou does retire, and that would free up a lot of room on the cap we think and a quota spot, then how about Wallace or even Soward as hooker.
Wallace has re invented himself there, and I think Soward has played there also.

I have just looked at the same site I was looking at when we were in the hunt for a half back.
There are quite a few hookers here that are coming off contract this year in the NRL, including 2 from Canberra.
Quite a few, are rather young, and not loads of game time

Any thoughts?

I'd have him back but imo he's a better player than Ormondroyd anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if he's just a back up at Leeds that stays at Feath on Dual Reg.

| Yes there probably isn't the money for two quality props, a creative second rower and an NRL standard hooker unless a big earner or two leaves..

Kurt Baptiste out of those that I've seen. Doubt we could afford him, unless something did happen with Tupou. I thought he'd signed an extension at Canberra though. Mitch Rein's a good player, Leeds were after him before they got Segeyaro. Dude was on $450k last year at St. George, that's way out of our price range, even if he took a pay cut. Matt Srama's a decent player as well. hull KR went after him a couple of years ago but he stayed in the NRL.

He's Hodgson's back up, can't see him going anywhere tbh.

I can categorically say he's no relation to The Psychic.

| Few names there that would be very good signings
I'd be happy if we got just one player from this list
Daniel Mortimer - Stand Off
Sam Tagataese - Prop
Ben Hannant - Prop
Elijah Taylor - Second Row
That Said I'm not unhappy with who we've signed so far and we have to remember that for the first time in years we were able to secure contracts with a number of existing players weeks before the season ended.
Sam Williams is the best signing made by any Super League club so far and gives us options around 6/7&9 by releasing Finn to the bench where he can be used as either a half or a hooker dependent on what the game in question demands.
Mason Caton Brown is a quality signing, I expect him to play centre or wing but either way his inclusion means alongside Johnstone and BJB we have one of the fastest backlines in the League.
Keegan Hurst is gamble that could go either way, we're pinning a lot of hope on him raising his game to another level when he's alongside higher quality players and benefiting from a full time environment.
Scott Grix is a shrewd signing, he organises a defence better than any other full back in the league and that's been a huge missing element from our team. He offers us an option in the halves though personally I hope we don't need to use him there. Most importantly he will take pressure off Max Jowitt who is not ready to play 20+ SL games yet, we will kill his career if we ask him to do that again next year.
Overall I'm happy to wait and see who the next couple of signings are

| Some interesting names on here.
Of course it would depend on Fifita or Tupou staying.
Mortimer is an interesting one. That would leave Miller and Williams fighting with him for a spot. Potentially our Man of Steel struggling for a starting spot. However, just reading his profile Mortimer is another half who can play hooker

| I think Mortimer is also the son of former Trinity player Chris Mortimer from 1990

From what I remember he was class but in the latter stages of his career.

Can't see us signing another overseas back tbh. Ben Hannant would be a great signing if Fifita didn't stay on. He's nearly 32 but the last 2 seasons he's played 24 and 28 games, so obviously isn't a sick note. Saying that I'd imagine a few SL clubs would love his services for a couple of years. Tagataese would be another great signing, good age, size and experience, who can cover Prop and the second row.
Trouble is with any of these overseas players is, if Fifita stays we're at max quota. It then comes down to whether A Tupou thinks his body can hold out or not next year and be honest with himself and the club. Because someone like a Taylor or Tagatese would improve us no end in the pack in his place.
As you hint at with Jowitt, the key for us if at all possible, is being able to rest the odd player next season but still not allow a massive drop off in quality.

You are right - perhaps my 'concern' is on a different level this year as we do have the bulkier our squad secured and early. The hooker but is the bit that concerns me most, but elsewhere it is more a case of completing the set.
Regarding pace, we have not had so much of it in 40 odd years of watching. We've had good wingers, with the occasional speed merchant, but to have 3 all at once is something else. If we can sort the hooker and keep Williams fit we should have some fun next year!
And yes, I'd take Mullally back if Leeds are unsure!
