Imagine the big announcement labeled the biggest in our clubs long and proud history "were moving to a little town 8 mile away called cas" AG would be bounced all over the cedar court. On a serious note it must be a big positive announcement for us with the publishising and arranging the biggest venue available in Wakefield to announce it. I'm going for a stadium built in Wakefield that will be done quicker than Newmarket involving a ambitious football club. It's just a guess but might have to change my username maybe to M1 - J40. Whatever it is I hope it's for the good Trinity and the CITY of Wakefield

That is one of the two stories I have heard re:meeting on the 8th.
The other was the outlandish story of Parkin funding GH.
FWIW I think it's safe to say that as virtually all rumours revolve around the inclusion of Steve Parkin we can chalk that up as being at least part of the content of the meeting.
Although the version I was told was explicit that Mr Parkin was far from alone & we have phase 2 of our BoD on the way.

Yes he did, I was at the first meeting & mine was the 2nd question put to them that evening (re: Steve Parkin & if there was a place for him), he did say that there were no places left but I would put that down to being new to the job and not having had time to look at the bigger picture/had to time to let the dust settle and people approach him.
I would reason that it's improbable that they are/were unknown to each other in a business sense as they were both former sponsors/stakeholders in some form in the clubs recent past. So maybe this has come to fruition since that meeting in Feb, or maybe this is something that has always been in the pipeline (as some are suggesting).
Like many others I'm just posting on the basis of what I have been told.
As I said yesterday; long live the speculation!

If it is a stadium other than Newmarket, you can imagine the reaction from the rest of the game.
The announcement would be treated very sceptically and who could blame them.

I understand that his business mentor and friend is multi-billionaire tax-dodger and owner of the Arcadia Group, Sir Philip Green. Anyone fancy WTW playing out of the Clipper Logistics stadium, with Top Shop as the main shirt sponsor?
Get me Benny Westwood, Gaz Ellis and Danny Brough on the phone - now!

| I have heard that Parkin has links with Sir Phillip Green but I can't see why Green would put money into us so i think that one is a non-starter.

I think the suggestion is that S Parkin would facilitate 'favourable' meetings between his contacts and the RFL.
The large organisations that Clipper deal with will have multiples of millions to invest as Tax write offs and some of that might find it's way into Rugby League sponsorship packages as opposed to other sports who can't get a foot in the door.

That was the point - not necessarily Philip Green, but the general principle of having contacts in organisations that lose more money down the back of the sofa than it would cost to sponor us for a year.
I think that lifelong Cas fan and Star Wars soundalike Mr Nahaboo, may well have woken other tax-sensitive businesses up to the sleeping giant that is RL; in sports sponsorship terms, it's the second most watched sport on Sky TV, whilst relative to football, costing peanuts to get your company name plastered all over.
We certainly do live in interesting times.
