If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |
|
| I was all for the appointment of Brian Smith. I didn't expect miracles just keeping us in superleagued last season and an improvement in the defence this season. . Walking away after 5 games is mildly disappointing . Refusing to give proper reasons to the supporters for leaving is equally disappointing . Posting a cryptic message on Facebook saying supporters should ask better questions is rather silly and the action of someone who has liitle feeling for the club but is also actively trying to cause a slight stir. I am no supporter of MC. I think he treats's the supporters with a lack of consideration at times but I don't think he is to blame for Smith leaving. If BS knows different now he is back in Oz he should tell us what he meant that Facebook message.

If you are going to treat players like part-time park players, they will think like them, and for what financial saving?
I'm not into mollycoddling players, but we've all been in jobs probably where things happen that affect morale, and all been in jobs where you've had fun and felt highly-regarded. One produces good results, the other doesn't. The heating of a dressing room shouldn't come under the expense category of "heating" but "morale", and that can win or lose a game.
Yes, balance the books, but think of the real cost of things, not just the number in a column.'"
Totally agree slugger, the players are the clubs biggest (only?) assets surely you need to look after them like they are royalty as much as you can? Pizza anyone?...

| I have a question for those who question the moral fibre of Smith. In the entire SL how many coaches have resigned their position part way through a season in the last three years. I can say we have three in the last two full seasons. We either just employ unsuitable coaches or we have a problem elsewhere.
I wait the numbers with interest to see how we compare.

That's like saying if my employer didn't give me a good enough laptop to do my job I should buy it myself as they give me a decent wage.
They are not playing for fun. They are professional players and should be treated that way..
I wonder if there was any heating in the offices

Are we sure that the 'gripe' re heating and a 'bus to Fev was from the players or just the coach himself. I can't imagine players being bothered about driving to Featherstone (other than being worried about the wheels from their cars being nicked ) as they drive to BV or do they have a 'bus to pick them up from home? Heating in the dressing room? - they don't train at BV, so why is this a problem, they have only used them twice this season on matchdays and the players are in full kit etc when they go out for their warm up. Perhaps someone's cup of tea was cold.

| If it is true that there was no heating on are we presuming it was turned off as a cost saving decision or could it hav been a fault waiting to be repaired. I can't for the life of me believe this would be intentional but if I'm wrong I find it incredible.

If the dressing room is cold and you want the 'chill' taking off it, then all they had to do was go get an electric heater from the offices or even from B & Q (stick it on expenses), seems a bit petty to me, what do us mere mortals do?

Really!
Some of the best teams in the history of the game have come from an adverse environment. If you've got character it forges you if you haven't got character it exposes you.
That said I think the no heating was more of an issue for 62 year old Brian Smith than it ever was for the players, it's a crock, a red herring and really ought to be laughed at! I can't believe some fans are giving it any credence whatsoever!
Your analogy isn't relevant either, if Carter had asked the players to play without boots on then you might have a point but the changing rooms are a bit chilly is is like an excuse from Harry Bassett!

[iThere’s a couple of reasons his odds are so short. First, his team is awful, even for this league. Second, unless the fact that he’s coaching a team sponsored by a fish and chip shop has mellowed him, he’s as abrasive as a sandpaper jockstrap. Its only a matter of time before he makes demands that can’t be met by a club where the ground is worth less than his contract. Then he’ll be returning home for “personal reasons”.[/i

| I remember in one of his press conferences/interviews he was saying it was freezing. Not sure where it was conducted but it wasn't the dressing room.

| Smith was always going to quit. It is proving impossible for anyone to work with Carter, he is destroying this club and all you do gooders who think that he has got 'the club stable' are living on a different planet. He is doing nothing but ripping the heart out of this great club. WE NEED HIM GONE NOW, at least Smith is a Rugby man with enough experience to know what is going on. We need someone in who will start a complete overhaul of the club, if that is from the championship so be it. If this doesn't happen we won't have a club to support....... And whoever takes over will have to pay MC all his money back because what he has invested in and bailed the club out with is loans from him that is still owed back to him according to THE CLUB BOOKS!!!!!!

Brilliant. You will be taking over the club then and pouring your £millions into it then. Well done the realistic one is WTW new Messiah.

Oh dear it looks like some people with an agenda against Mr Carter have now stooped to the depths of insinuating that there might be some irregular financial dealings happening at the club.
It's remarkable that a fan like yourself has suddenly found this forum and decided to open an account, or maybe you just don't have the dogs doodars to post under your usual user name, which makes your post and yourself all the more contemptuous.
This thread is getting more and more embarrassing by every post.
