I never mentioned anything about dropping any of the teams that run out of our club. It cost this club approx £300,000 a year according to MC to run the other teams at our club . I’d like to think that this new owner can cover these cost in the short term and still have a competitive team when and if we come back up into super league. Because without it we will forever be courting disaster and losing out on those quality players who will favour safer clubs to ply their trade , which will always have a knock on effect on our fan base as is seen at present, with less that 4000 fans included a decent contingent from Salford to our last home game , which if I’m honest is pathetic to say the club is battling relegation and needs their fans in its hr if need . The only way to build this club up is to have a terrific team running out at Belle Vue , anything less and fans will continue to drift away from our game , as is happening at our club now .

Back into the game tonight I think to get the win Wakey need to drag the Wigan team into a bit of a scrappy dog fight and “old man” then in the pack.

The Wigan pack is probably the weakest part of their team so the lads really need to use their experience to bully them especially when they are missing the likes of Isa and Cooper who are their most combative and experienced enforces.

The main area of concern for Trinity I have is on the edges. Wigan are very big and athletic with pace to burn in the backs and if we let them get a roll on and give Smith time and space to boss the game then I do worry that the likes of Field, French, Wardle, King, Miski and Marshall could exploit Trinity’s lack of pace.

Makes for an intriguing clash of styles.

Can I say I thought this would be the game to ascertain if our coach has turned the corner and I will admit he has. I don’t know who provided the money to bring over Fifita and sign Gale (who I thought was past his best) but thank you we have a chance.
If we can continue against Huddersfield and draw them into the relegation struggle.
