| Quote marc271841="marc271841"No mention of Butler here which is the point I made. If the lad is aggrieved at a lack of game time then you can understand it to some degree.
I'm not saying he's a world class talent and has already established himself. But by the same token he's never going to get there by not playing.
I played prop myself and I happen to like what I see with this lad. If he comes back all good. If he comes back to haunt us we might live to regret it.'"
Butler has been okay. He has been solid nothing more. It’s clear that Butler needs to work on his fitness and get on the weights but I think the time to judge him will be after a full pre season or a string of games. I don’t see what he has to do with Aydin being allowed to go on loan though.
Aydin I would put about on par with Butler as 5/6th choice props presently. The one thing I do like about Aydin is his aggressive and niggly streak he has.
I wouldn’t read too much into this loan. Leeds are short of props, we have an excess few available. It also works in our interest that Leeds have a stronger line up vs Toulouse available.
Personally I’m 50/50 on Aydin st this point. Im much more excited about seeing Eseh develop.

No. If they want him they would just take him when his contrac was up.
He’s a decent prospect but I doubt he’s in the must have category.
It’s just a loan, and unless he puts in a Stella showing he will be back in two weeks time.

That's the point though isn't it. If he puts a stella showing in over the next 2 weeks it may well lead to Leeds taking him off our hands at the end of his contract. We've seen ourselves what Hall has done when he actually gets game time.

| Thanks for the replies. Interesting to see how it goes.
I’m not expecting us to be able to do you any favours on Saturday…..not only do we have no props but Leeming still out and Austin and now Sezer out as well so we have nothing at HB either

Oh come on, seriously. Then we'd better not loan any players out had we.
He's available at the end of his term full stop. We either make a deal or he goes elsewhere, I seriously doubt a two week cover spell will make a difference and if it does so be it. Not like we haven't benefited in the past. The paranoia of Trinity fans is incredible at times.

And yet the bookies still have Leeds as pretty strong favourites. Who do they expect to pull the strings?

So you genuinely think there is no risk of the boy doing well and putting himself in the shop window?
You genuinely think there is no risk that this happens and he goes on to be a great asset for Leeds.
All I've done is express my opinion and reasons why we might be a little nervous.
I know it's common practice for you to essentially throw your weight around and be the big man on campus. But you should really learn to accept people have different opinions to you. This forum might get a bit more traffic if you did.

Sorry but the simple fact is that we haven’t signed Aydin up for next year. Whether we have offered something and there’s a gap in the club and players expectations or we haven’t offered we don’t know.
The club has made a decision and they may want to see Aydin in action in SL but let Leeds take the risk on his inexperience with their current predicament.
You simply cannot predict the future! He may do well or he may not do well. But I can sure fire guarantee that we shouldn’t be offering out contracts ‘just because’ a player could play well.
It is a 2 week loan deal. Aydin hasn’t broke any pots for us when given the opportunity albeit been fairly solid. The simple fact is that Aydin can be approached by any club in the UK to discuss 2023 and beyond as he is as it stands out of contract. Maybe the club are simply not sure on Aydin yet much like the fans seem to be split on whether he’s actually good enough.

| It's laughable that anyone should think that Leeds would have no knowledge of Aydin and his ability until today.
There are no negatives for Wakefield, Leeds or Aydin in this loan deal. There might be one for Toulouse.

So there is no negative for Wakefield if Aydin impresses coaching staff and other players at Leeds during his loan and it convinces Leeds to sign him next year? That will be so insignificant to the club and there is no risk this will happen at all?

Wakefield have chosen not to either give him a deal or meet his demands. What part of that don’t you understand?
He could play well for Leeds but equally he could not. If we see some value in his performances for Leeds we can offer him something if we chose. It allows us to look at him at no risk to the club.
There is always risk to every decision in sport. We could sign him up and he could end up churning out poor performances or possibly good.
I really fail to see your point on Aydin. Any player going out on loan could impress no matter their contract status.

The risk is that we might be letting a team interested in signing the lad have essentially what will be a free hit. If he likes Leeds and Leeds like him it's game over.
