| Quote Scarlet Pimpernell="Scarlet Pimpernell"Why would anyone believe that a sacked club employee would have his salary paid for by the chief executive. I don’t know what type of business you work for but tell me how many times you have come across this scenario.'"
Yeah well, this is as ever where you are wrong. Chester wasn't sacked he had his contract terminated and there is a huge difference. Sacked is a cheap journo term but you can't be sacked from a contract in the way you mean unless it's for gross misconduct. Depending on the type of contract it is you are obliged to pay it up to its completion or whatever the legal print states.
We don't know when CC's old contract ended or when the verbally agreed one was due to begin. We don't know the terms and conditions. With MC being as far as I'm aware the main shareholder in the club he may well have decided to protect his business asset by paying CC himself or at least in the short term.
Seeing how quickly CC secured new employment he won't be greatly out of pocket and it will be money he can pay himself back at a more suitable time.
Of course, I'm speculating but at least I admit it, but I'm choosing to speculate in a more reasoned and less paranoid way than you do, sometimes the most simple answer is the obvious one. Your anti-club agenda is just too obvious at times.

Seems to be getting at you big time SP!
MC has proved time and again he knows the finances of the club inside out - why would he do anything that would financially hurt the club? Why don't you let it drop - surely it's the business of the employer and the employee and nothing to do with anyone else.

| I guess Vastman does not have any other example of a Chief Executive paying the salary of a former employee and where did you get the idea that his contract was terminated. I know you are family but probably the black sheep so doubt you would be kept in the know.
If MC wants to pay him that’s fine what I did not think would be right is for the club to pay it thereby reducing the money available especially when we are already flagging a difficult financial year.
I shall now return the forum to the bunch of sycophants in the hope that not all independent thinkers have been forced off because let’s face it the forum is slowly dying. I wonder how many contributors the WT forum has lost. I guess because most of the clubs no longer contribute to their forums poor old Vastman cannot go onto their section to enlighten them with his opinions. The club did not help him either by losing so many games under the Chester period.

Without knowing Chester,s contract details which, unless you are either Chester of MC why would you, this is just speculation on your part.
MC clearly believed that his actions were good and proper and that should be enough for anyone.
For a bloke that has lumped plenty of his own cash and copious amounts of time into the club, I dont understand your "beef".
I mentioned in previous post that plenty of club managers are paid off and plenty of those remain "out of action" for the most of their contracted period. After all if an employer pays you for another 12 months it can prevent you taking on a new job.
The fact that Chester is now head coach at Leigh, there may be less to pay him - equally, there may not.
Frankly, it's none of our business and should stay that way.
Let's move on. Get your season ticket bought and support the club and it's new coach.

| Why the big concerns over CC payment and for how long.
It was a mistake for M C to make the matter public, maybe his attempt to let people know what a great guy he is.
I would much rather he announced justho much he will back the new coach and in conjunction with WP set some targets that show some intention and ambition

| I never come from the position that I am right ALL the time as per all the put downs, I do however love debate that breeds clarity !
However, on a slight tangent, has anyone seen the comments of Tony Smith, re - selfish few bigger clubs wanting change by way of taking smaller clubs out of SL, in order to preserve their position & status this quote, " Little clubs getting littleler " ?
Throw in Sky, they were saviours of Rugby league, now we ALL jump to the pay masters, there is no where else to go !
Sad days to come probably down the line ? Any thoughts ?

| Quote TrinTrin="TrinTrin"Well, announced by MC, picked up by Google media, wakey, shortfall of £ 480 k, that's 4, or 5 good players we cannot pay for !
So I am in full support of WP, I also feel sorry for him already, he is in a week position, agreed he is aware but that does not change facts of new players & quality players. I will still buy season tickets next season but reality is less players & quality, we are up against it, I will not blame Willie if all goes wrong especially with inevitable injuries !
You can only motivate so far & in so few games, however, up the Trin.'"
Michael Carter has said that £480,000 is actually 9 players for you guys.
