If we want to attract new people, showing we care about the wellbeing of the employees is a great advert.'"
Totally agree with that last sentence.
I’m not sure some people realise what a poor reputation in the sport Trinity used to have. It was deep seated and went much further back than Ted and Glover. Trinity lost is reputation with local business, players and many RL folk as far back as the late 1970!s.
Even now I still know people with a distrust of the club though in most cases not the darn right hostility there used to be. I know from personal experience a number of players whose family ties were Trinity through and through who none the less were advised by those same people not to join the club.
If MC has one great achievement under his belt it’s re-establishing Trinity as a club that can be trusted. He can’t please everybody but one day soon I suspect our new found credibility will pay dividends.
In this regard this action can only help. The sight of a young coach who was given five seasons to achieve though ultimately fail not being thrown to the wolves and looked after is a great advert and will most certainly stop anyone bad mouthing the club. So imho it’s a win for both parties.
