| Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"It would be interesting to know at what point are tacklers no longer involved AND when the tackle is deemed complete.
Having said that, Leeds look to have practiced dropping off the tackle to allow a steal and we certainly had not. They made more steals than any other side last week.
However, when there are still other players touching the player, surely they are still involved in the tackle.
Maybe the key is to hold one of the additional tacklers in, so that there are always 2.'"
This is point ... it’s all down again to interpretation and you will see many different views from different officials as the season goes . I personally don’t like it and couldnt see anything wrong with the rule as it was .

| This is where the captains challenge should come into play. This would remove a bit more pressure from the refs.

Rested after one game is a bit much even for the pampered sportsmen of 2021!

| Quote Brightside="Brightside"Squad should be good enough to win. Looking at their announced squad Wigan have some pretty obvious weaknesses in their back division we should be both good enough and ruthless enough to exploit. Use our pace out wide and kick to their inexperienced wing. Forwards will have to stand up though.
Much as it pains me to say, thought Hardaker was excellent last week against Leigh.'"

Didn't quite mean it like that, I suppose I meant rotated, so we could compare the two.

| Beating Wigan - by no means a forgone conclusion.
I don’t care if ‘names’ are missing they don’t have weak players in their squad.
They have a production line of players busting a gut to impress!

| I think this will be the big test of our pack and if we have got it right in the off season, Arona, Fifita, green have all lost a lot of weight I am guessing with the mobility in mind of the ruck speed, six again but with that can come loss of impact, loss of strength.
Wigans pack were single handledy steam rolled by Adam Sidlow who is nothing special at all, if Leigh had another decent prop to spell him with they would have won the game for me without a doubt, will be interesting to see how we go against them.

I agree
At best, it will encourage even more wrestling in the tackle and I'm not sure if the ref and his assistants can be expected to know that other tacklers are involved.
As for a legal steal if a player is in the act of scoring, this is just stupid.
What was wrong with being held up over the line ?

I love the level of understatement in the first line of your post.
The bookies are giving us 16 start on the handicap, which looks generous but, beating Wigan is a long, long way from a foregone conclusion.

Only difference I can see from last week is Hastings in, Field out, I don't think they are actually missing that many, Gildart and French?
