| Turned World cup off at half time. Just a penalty competition. What sort of sport is that??? On one occasion I'm sure the ref gave a penalty to SA and then didn't apply it until about twelve rucks later. The GB v NZ game wasn't much better, but at least it did flow a bit more.

| Its interesting that we have to date 3 pages on RU. Ok most are rubbishing the game but like it or not its come on over the last few seasons and puts our game back in the dark ages when it comes to marketing. The game attracts all shapes and sizes and can be played at an excellent level at secondary schools up and down the country. RL become stagnant and will never reach level of recruitment that RU can achieve. I agree that yesterdays final fell well short of the England v NZ semi but SA played a well disciplined organised game and deserved the win.Lets be honest the finals all about winning in any team sport and SA played the game to win.
Arsenal used to win many a game 1 0 and the fans loved it, remember the chant 1 o to the Arsenal.
I would also like to add the the match day experience for corporate clients are easy to book and put RL days to shame. Internationals and the head to heads at Twickenham are superior to anything you will find in football.

| They seem to promote their game better than we do. One small point in hand was yesterday’s “wooden spoon” game, On my planner on SKY this game was the “bronze final”.

| There is no question about it.
Whether you like RU or not it is seen as a direct competitor to us for audience, sponsorship and players.
They beat us on all three.
Having the better game doesn't help if the management and marketing teams are non existant.

| I feel sure that one of the reasons RL went to golden point was to accommodate the Americans who need to see a winner at the end of any sporting event.
Anyway getting back to RU im not a fan of the bonus point system but i do like the points system for a try, penalty , conversion

| BBCs "key moments" highlights clip last 35 seconds and was simply the 2 South African tries on 65 and 73 minutes. Says it all.

| Three things I'd take from RU. The hype machine, the old school tie network and the administration. The game itself is dull, but its organisation blows RL away. It of course helps with the BBC fawning all over it, more so than any other sport (relatively).
