It’s an ok signing for me.

A few years ago he’d have been considered a major signing with huge level of expectation. Now he’s just another player brought in to bolster a position we are already fairly strong in. He’s no longer a key signing for any club so pressure off which I think is a good thing in his case.

His biggest asset is experience and a level of versatility, I think his weaknesses are fairly well known, fitness probably our biggest concern.

Still a young buck with plenty to offer ,can’t beat that experience he’ll bring to the club ,and hopefully the team will be that bit more competitive with this signing .

Trust me my reasoning is completely different to yours. You seem to think Trinity has a ‘mediocre’ squad whose main aim is to avoid relegation and be mid table fodder as you continually state.

I don’t think that, I think we have plenty of quality but we totally underperformed last season even taking injuries into account.

Even without knowing the final team line up for 2020 I feel we are even stronger injuries permitting. This means that a player who would have been a huge signing 3-4 years ago is now just an addition, something I find very heartening.

Please don’t include me in your glass half empty routine, I’m a positive thinker at the start of a season, I don’t see any point in not being. To see your team as beaten before a game is played is the calling card of a loser in my book, sorry but that’s how I see it.

Can't wait for him to make his first mistake and the chants of "You Cas ********" to start.

I think if fit, he'll be a useful addition to the squad. Nice to be in a situation where we have:
Ashurst
Tanginoa
Arona
Batchelor
Crowther
Westerman
to choose from for back row forwards.

and when you look at his published stats he's played more games, scored more tries, had more try assists than the average of all of the above so has to be a positive move if he stays fit

That knee for me is a concern though, its been said it dislocates on a regular basis due to lack of ligament tissue. What happens when it wont go back in place, and could require surgery to correct it.

Another point to add, wasn't there talk of his career in his younger days of having a drinking culture, with the rumoured shenanigans with Pauli, is it what we want?

The knee is fine, it was actually a one off which makes the fact Radford said it happens every 2 or 3 weeks quite bizarre although I am sure this was just Radford trying to make light of the situation at the time. Good thing is, Joe knows he is a little bit unfit and is willing to work as he knows this is likely his last contract in the top flight if he gets it wrong.

Leeds and Cas were in for him, Leeds withdrew there offer for whatever reason late in the day. Salford, KR and Catalan were also after him but he wanted to be back in WY.

Good player, poor attitude, just look at the amount of clubs he had in the last 5 years.
