| Confirmed 3 year deal, said lure of coaching such an iconic club was too much
also The potential at this place is absolutely immense. It's down to me to stabilise the club and improve and evolve in an upward direction."

| I know the body is still warm but being mercenary for a moment - does that perhaps THIS leaves a bit of spare cash for say a certain young H/B

| Well that's that. He's obviously got his reasons, highlighted in part by the post above but even with that I personally find it a bit strange. I said when it was first rumored I wondered whether his recent WC trip with Wales had got his Coaching juices flowing again and it seems to have.
Personally speaking, I think he'll be missed. Not quite sure exactly how hands-on he was with our first team (BLM may have a better idea from his son) so not sure how it will affect us playing wise, although CC will have no doubt learned a great deal from him during his time here and has developed into a good Coach himself. I wonder if we'll bother to replace him or just stay as we are.

I wondered about the Cash thing but in a different way, Obviously it's none of my business what he gets paid but I wonder what the difference in pay was between his position at Trinity in SL, to being Coach in the 3rd level is.
Hopefully like you hint at Vastman, we can make a positive out of this.

According to the club website we are...
Quote Shifty CatThe Club will now be looking to replace John, with an assistant to Head Coach Chris Chester. Anyone interested in applying should contact Michael Carter or Chris Chester as soon as possible.'"
I'm sure there a few people on here who might fancy a go...

| Maybe Tony Smith could replace him here?
Much as I like JK,and I'm sorry he's left, it does give me another reason to hope the Bulls flop.

| So we're replacing him but with the job title as Assistant Coach to CC. Personally wouldn't have a clue where to start, especially with us having a fairly young Coach anyway. I was going to say Tony Smith could do what Kear did but seems the job title now doesn't fit him.

I'd say great minds and all that but I'd be kidding.

| Perhaps he sees it as a fitting end to a long career. Given that we know the Bulls have the ability to be a successful top flight club with big crowds (subject to sensible financial management), imagine the legacy of restoring them to that. In the eyes of Batley fans, I'm sure he is highly-regarded. He is rightly respected and admired by us, for what he did for us for five years, and also last year, and now has the opportunity to top his legacy by returning the Bulls to former glory. I can see the lure of that.
Good luck to the bloke, and to the Bulls. Whatever we think, they were an asset to the Super League when they were in it.

Didn't Chris Chester say that one goal he had at Wakey was to put the smiles back on the faces of the players. From reading the Warrington board, that isn't Tony Smith's style. Tales of players being frozen out, etc.
