Excellent move to revert back Wakefield Trinity, gets my approval anyway.

Relieved to have finally ditched this embarrassing tag line. Why on earth we decided to use a big yellow cat and the tag line Wildcats as part of the clubs image/name I'll never know. Maybe adults will actually wear our merchandise without shame in the future!

Ah, memories of the green 'un and pink 'un along with the performances on the field. Some of the entertaining rugby we are playing now is reminiscent of the team then. Going back to the old name seems fitting. I reckon it's a great idea.

Like you say this gets better and better. Trinity is in everyones who supports Wakefield blood. This is a fine move.

Those who want to use Wildcats as a nickname still can. There could be a range of Wildcats merch for those who want it as well as a Trinity/Fleur de Lys range.

In my experience I don't think ant decision ever made by the club has met with such universal support (me included).

It's indicative of our current upturn in fortunes, that the in-house, know-it-all, experts on everything over on the VT, have decided this is a bad move, based on a throwaway line by MC in an interview, where he said the decision was based "on a gut feeling," rather than an extensive market research and branding exercise.

12 months ago, our nomenclature would have been beneath most peoples notice.

Quite happy that we have returned to what we alwayds should have been. Not that it will affect me in anyway, shape or form though as i don't think i've ever used the wildcats name anyway!

Only problem is possibly we may need two sets of merchandise, the Trinity set and a Wildcats range for the younger generation. We might need a bigger shop!

To be fair, he floated the idea on various social media sites and 99% of responses were positive. Let's say 100 people responded on there, 99 of whom were positive, then that is market research enough for a target market of say 5000 - 10000. All of the fan sites and accounts (Northstanders etc all overwhelmingly in favour) etc.

Pink Un was Yorkshire Evening News and Green Un Evening Post if I remember correctly. Couldn't wait for the Vendor's cry coming onto the street on a Saturday night to read of Trinity's exploits in that day's away game. I delivered them myself for a brief period during my youth and when we got bored we just dumped the remaining papers over a wall.
