I think the big misses are Anderson, Ashurst & L Smith with Molloy close to being included in that group.

I totally agree with the action taken by the club in sacking, Locke & T Smith, I don't understand how Reece Lyne survived but I don't have all the facts.

I would love to have seen us with a fit Ashurst on the left and a fit Kirmond on the right but hey ho, we still have a good backrow.

I've heard on the grapevine and through one or two TV pundits that Bradford are going to keep it very tight. If they do that I think they're playing into our strength and the area we have the advantage.

I think we've got a hell of a lot more pace in the team compared to last time we played Bradford. With Godinet much faster than T Smith, Jowitt & Johnstone both faster than the players they've replaced.

Lee Smith missing with his big game experience is a mistake if not injured. As already said been prolific try scorer and very good kicker. He should have been in centre with Jowitt at full back.

I said in another thread Anderson going off after 5 mins against Eagles I thought he wouldn't be playing. Not suggesting it's not a genuine injury but got disciplined then gets injured after 2 hit ups with the ball, bet he's not with Trinity next year. Hope there is a performance in all of them....

He damaged his knee ligaments. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do that on purpose.

I cannot believe what I am reading that team however you juggle it is poor. An honourable defeat is still a defeat, I am struggling to come up with a worse team. It is that bad that you all pick Lyne despite the general consensus he is rubbish but this is all we have left. I doubt we have any other players to add so it was probably one of the easiest squads to pick.
The sad part it is just before our most important game our chairman decides to release probably three players. I think someone should point out to him that players are released after the last game not just before. It looks more like another excuse to save money on their salaries.
I would point out that if he had a sick note then sacking him could turn out to be quite expensive if he sues the club for wrongful dismissal.

If you actually read the squad report it does not say Ashurst is injured.

Fits in with mention in Bradford paper today that Carters probably going to take Wakefield part time next year if you go down. Everything he does seems to be about saving money.

Just a few weeks before the most important game for our club and two of our most talented players (locke ,Smith) decide to go on a drunken spree....well thanks a lot for that guys !!!!! Smith in particular has been given chance after chance by our club and late on so has Locke, I can't begin to tell you the bitterness I feel towards those two for doing that. Like some-one said before don't the facts about Lyne so will give him the benefit of the doubt . I just hope and pray the players picked, do the job for us on Saturday and how fitting would it be if Ali had a stormer and led us to victory...Come on Wakey !!!!

On another thread people were talking about the 'unprofessionalism' within the club and how we can change the culture?
What message would do it send out if Smith and Locke were allowed to play after their antics at such a critical time?
The club has made the decision to release/sack them before the biggest game in recent times, so that the rest of the players can get on with the job in hand without the distraction of, 'will they play or won't they?'
This decision could be the first steps to get the right culture within the club!

I knew I could rely on Chairman Chissit to come to the defence of the regime. If you were at Waterton I presume you were good at cutting the grass because that was the only Wakefield supporter who admitted to it. I suppose you could have been embarrassed to admit it and keep it a secret from the rest of the members.
With regards sacking it does not take a genius to understand that you have to be very careful or you could face being sued. I hope that our chairman took proper advice before doing so and if he is in charge then I doubt he would ask for the view of the coach regarding an off field matter because he has not listened to anyone else.
I think you should give up with your obsession because you are now getting embarrassing but if it keeps you away from the general public I am at least contributing to the greater good.

I can't figure out why we're dropping Lee Smith again if he's not injured. Also is Molloy injured? Because that's another strange one, Brian Smith has openly said he rates these two.
