| This blameless council oversaw the writing and submission of the UU in place of a 106.
This blameless council chose to allow NC to be developed without contributing to the 60,000m2 trigger point - thus nullifying the reduction from the 90,000 the developer originally requested.
This blameless council has not registered the UU as a Land Charge, despite the document inviting it to be so.
This blameless council led us a merry dance over NC.
This blameless council has, so far, failed to respect and protect the wishes of the 15,000 people who supported this development on the basis of getting a Community Stadium.
Just for clarity.
We do have an opportunity to out this right and we will soon have news as to how that is going on. Discussions were difficult whilst the BV situation was being resolved, but we hope to get moving again as soon as the lease is signed!

I have followed your posts and never knocked you or disagreed with you, in fact in all fairness I think you often make some very good points. However on this occasion you are way off the mark, this whole mess we are in has been caused by the council for all the reasons TRB has just stated.

Agree on this. Your comments (SP) saying the club alone is to blame for the stadium problems is an almighty kick in the teeth to all the tireless and often thankless work of all those involved in our supporter trust and others doing their bit from within the club. Wakefield council have shafted Wakefield Trinity end of.

Not entirely end of; Wakefield Council have colluded with Colin Mackie to shaft Wakefield Trinity, HM Inspector [iand[/i the people of Wakefield. It's actually worse than you describe.

The only body who can put this right is the Council. They have to ensure that the Developer delivers what he promised the people of Wakefield at the Public Inquiry to secure planning.
Will they do it ? We'll have to wait and see but if they don't they will be letting at least 15,000 people down.

I've said this before, but the Council have other priorities that they want to see through first - ie the new Castleford Stadium. There is no way on earth that they will allow the Newmarket stadium to be completed before that one.

| To me it seems the council have been complicit in the whole saga.
Yorkcourt want to build warehouses within green belt land.
WMDC put forward a way of using community facilities as a way of sweetening the planning process whilst behind closed doors conjure up a plan with the developer so that the said facilities will never be constructed.
WMDC grant planning and support the scheme through the PI.
WMDC approve the Newcold development on the back of the positive outcome of PI with the provision of community facilities being a major factor for that approval whilst ensuring it won't count towards the enabling development target.
When questioned, WMDC trot out the legal advice bull.
WMDC can't provide evidence of legal advice so threaten anyone who dares to dig deeper with further litigation.
WMDC wash their hands of the whole thing.
I've said it before, had it been a hospital or school the media and potentially the police would be all over this. As it's 'only a stadium for Wakefield Trinity' the wider general public don't give a .

| Whatever happened about that phantom legal advice?
To me the WMDC caught themselves in a snare with that one, have we left them to wriggle out of it!

| Could someone far more erudite and aware of the whole sickening Newmarket saga than I am forward it in condensed form for inclusion in the wonderfully exposing "Rotten Boroughs" section of Private Eye magazine. That would show the whole nation what a corrupt council we have here in Wakefield?

So WMDC are all over the Castleford S106 which is basically a benefit for a privately owned entity (Cas Tigers), which is a stark contrast to the total contempt they have shown for the Newmarket one and the benefits it should now be providing for the citizens of Wakefield - you know, they actual people the Councillors are supposed to represent.
