If the traffic is kind, it's three minutes and costs £3.60. HTH.

Seems like only me and you have been there - best pub within short distance of the ground by a mile. IMO of course, being a real ale fan

| I go to the Kings arms on a regular basis and should be atttending after the WTW Vs Tigers game. The food isn't as good since the new manager has taken over but is still a decent bar meal but nothing spectacular. Where the Kings excels is in its real ale and old style atmosphere. On a sunny day, sat outside at the front entrance there is nothing quite like it locally.
The Kings Arms sits neatly into my top 5 real ale pubs in the area.
In no order - Junction (Castleford), Robin Hood (Pontefract), Kings Arms (Heath), Fernandes Taps (Wakefield), Gaping Goose (Garforth).

| Last time (and only time) I went in the Gaping Goose not so long since it only had 2 ales on, one of which was Tetley's Cask - so didn't count - I guess its changed a bit.
Never been in the Robin Hood but the rest I'll agree. I'm more a Harry's Bar / Printworks person, quite a few decent real ale bars opening up in that little area now, all within walking distance.

| Robin Hood has just re-opened after been closed for 6 months due to flooding and is well worth a visit. Gaping Goose has Wainwright's and Tetley Cask with 3 guest beers on also. Nice beer garden too.

Harry's Bar can be a victim of its own success. Do they do food???
Fernandes might be open but don't do food.
Not heard of Printworks

Neither Harry's or Fernandes do food, I was just answering tigerades list of his favourites with a few of mine in Wakefield.
Print works is right next to Harry's bar.

Ive travelled from Warrington and stopped at Ruddy Duck just had the cavery and it was ok not the best but would happily have it again unless you are at Barnsley next year.

| Just back from the game.
Went to the Kings Arm in Heath Common where there was a vintage car and bus rally today, so that was quite interesting.
Lovely pub with good ales and the steak and ale pie was 'to die for'
The day was rounded off with a win for 'The Wire'.
Good day all round - thanks for the tips.
Good luck for the rest of the season - hope to return next season.
