| We don't know the in's and out's of what's been said by McShane we can only speculate on paper talk. Best just wait and see what transpires over the next couple of weeks, let the coach do his job, he must have some irons in the fire from the World Cup and I reckon if nothing comes of the McShane rumour then someone else will be in the frame and we'll get another pleasant surprise similar to the Anderson signing.
Looking at the squad, it's certainly looking a lot more healthy than what we were thinking after our recent signings and even though we're gonna be in for one hell of a battling season, I don't believe for one minute we're gonna be whipping boys as some on other sites would have you think.

| Scrum half is inbound.
We can't have Lauititi and Tauti on the park at the same time I don't feel, not unless we have completely changed his style of play which seems unlikely. I think they are too high risk players, and given we are likely to be in a bit of a dogfight having 2 on the park is a luxury we are unlikely to afford.
Hopefully the Cas match was indicative of what we can expect to see from Ali this coming season, and there's life in the legs yet. Let's hope though we can afford to use him more sparingly so as to get more from him in attack as I feel that he could be our main attacking option and keeping him as healthy as possible for as long as possible needs to be one of the main priorities.
What sort of a game does the new lad have, anybody know? Ideally he would be a grafter who can play long minutes rather than an impact player for me.

Re Ali, I said last year I didn’t feel Agar was using him the best possible way by starting him. He’s 34(?) next year and perhaps won’t play every game so I’d like to see Kirmond and Walshaw start then bring Ali on to play against tiring defences. He still capable of having an impact on a game.
Anderson has said himself he’s more of a grafter than anything else.

| Really? You are saying they shouldn't be in the squad because they are not Neil Fox?

| 2 lads at the age of 16 having a significant impact on the first team squad is unlikely. At that age you are far from developed. Takes a special type of player at that age to mix it with the big boys.
But still if they are good enough - there is nothing to suggest that they should not have exposure to the first team - The likes of Shulver and Maskill will be above them in the pecking order I would have thought

| Incidentally Clan, Trinity Heritage FB page had a programme of a game in 27 Nov 83 against Bradford (They won 20-15)
Hanley played 6 against a young stand off in that game.
How old was he then?

Is there any need to be so bloody hostile all the time?

Actually I don't think I was giving an opinion, I was poking fun at your comment.
But as you want to continue it, I have absolutely no opinion of Jowitt and Crowther, who I assume are the two you refer to. I have never seen either of them play. At 16 they are of course highly unlikely to play, but I'm sure, to use your phrase Clan's post was "understood by everyone but you".
I can't see the need to make a big deal about it. If they are given shirt numbers it will be to make the home grown player numbers up in the squad. They won't play.
So why the need to compare them to Neil Fox?
