| It will be a disappointing end to a disappointing season. Players massively underperforming, glad when it just fizzles out with no doubt a complete lack of desire and effort.

| Wrencat, I honestly think it will only be 1.
Home to Widnes.
Our defence is so poor that I don't believe we'll win any other.
So come on lads............prove me wrong

| Quote: bellycouldtackle "I am not saying play them for the sake of it. The first team have had a very poor season, 6 wins is it, yet nobody ever gets dropped, to be letting in 30 points a match must mean that players who get selected week after week are not doing what they are paid to do. Several of the reseve team players have played very well all season and yet they never get a sniff a first team. It must be difficult for them to not think whats the point and look for another club. We need to show the first team players that if you can be dropped and the reseves must be rewarded for good play. An example would be Mathers who has made at least one error per game for the last five games that has gifted a try. Grayson in the second team has had a great season, give the lad a run out. Southern has been very poor all season, Anakin has been great in the reserves and Speirs has impressed on loan, give them a go. Mellars has been gash all season, Cowling has played realy well, give Cowling a go. Wood has been shocking lets give Wildie or Ellis a run out. We now know that Wood is never going to be good enough lets find out if Wildie / Ellis can do a better job.'"
All the above has been debated etc. several times already.
I agree with you but, as we all now know, its not gonna happen. Starting 17 will be more or less the same for the last 7 as it was the last 7 played. Just tweaked for injuries. Agar in todays express, and i quote "I would rather develop the players we already have", yet when both our centres are injured what do we do ? Promote someone from u-19? No, loan someone from Leeds

3 wins would be a minimum target, but with Huddersfield out of form and if we can start to defend better, then 5 wins would be possible.'"
2 points is all we will get, the way we ate playing; Widnes home..if we are lucky.

Sorry but I think thats a lot of linking of wishful thinking. Cas and Salford ought to be realistic targets but the way we defend and throw away possession, we are always lucky to win. Cas away...they slammed us once this year and Wheldon Jungle is a graveyard at the best of times for Wakey. Salford in great form. HullKR and Huddersfied just too good for us. Widnes not good away,,2 points. AGAR OUT ASAP come the end of the season, I would hope but not holding my breath. Seems we are committed to seeing out our compromise coach's contract. Great - we seem to ne getting Newmarket. 2 years of a shambles on the pitch if we keep Agar...it gives me very strange mixed feelings.

I know L.Smith is from Leeds on loan but on form he is a quality player and if he shows some form and WTW can keep onto him then he'll be a good signing. He'll need game time.

Is Lee Smith any better than our u-19 centres ? And even if he is, why bother bringing him in for 8 games of a season thats lost, why not try said u-19's ?

He played well on Sunday, for Wigan, looking at the size of him he could be the powerhouse prop we've been crying out for if he can keep hold of the ball. He also needs to ditch the yellow boots it makes it easier to spot who is making the mistakes!
As for the thread title 'only 7 matches left' if only it was less...

When was the last time he was "on form" though? Ask the Leeds fans and they will tell you it was before his sojourn in Rugby Union.
When we played them away he was the waterboy and most of their fans around us thought he wasn't even up to that job.
Given a choice who would you rather have in your team, Collis, Sykes, L.Smith? Collis and Sykes would be ahead of him in my opinion and therefore we should be using our squad to fill the gaps and not bringing someone in on loan who wouldn't be a first choice if our own players were fit.
Walshaw would do a much better job at Centre than Lee Smith did last week, I would also have considered playing Sykes at Centre and giving John or Wildie a shot at 6. Also Cowling and Grayston have been playing well in reserves and on loan.
I just don't see why we needed to bring in Lee Smith on loan, just because he USED TO BE good for Leeds.

The reason for taking Smith on loan was due to injury to both of our first choice centres. Whether he should play in front of our own youngsters is a different matter, but as we have seen with Walshaw, even if the kids can step up quality wise, it takes a long while before they can play the full 80 at SL level.
IMO, althought he is a Rhino, Smith does have some quality about him and although there is no doubt that he tried to force a couple of things in the Wigan game, he will be ok for us.
Walshaw has done ok when he has come in but cant play effectively for long enough (yet).

| Walshaw is not been allowed to play longer, look at the Wigan game. It was obvious to everyone in the crowd where I was that Kirmond was having a nightmare. Carmont ran over him, through him and around him several times in the first 20 mins, fortunately for Kirmond he had Walshaw defending next to him. Walshaw not only made his own tackles but he did Kirmonds as well. We lost count of the number of times that Walshaw saved us.
Meanwhile on the other side of the pitch Lee Smith was doing a good job looking after Goulding ( is that correct name ? ) . So the first question is, if the fans nearer me could see what was happening why could our coaching team not see the problem. Option one would have been to switch Kirmond and Smith and see if Smith could do a better job with Carmont than Kirmond. Option two would have been to remove Kirmond from the field of play, put Walshaw in the centre to mark Carmont and put Trout in the second row. The very last thing that should have happened, lets call it option 3 would have been to take Walshaw of and leave Kirmond to look after Carmont.
Guess what we went for option 3, with the obvious result that Carmont ran riot.

Have you read the Walshaw article on the official site? From your comments I can only presume you have not
