It's frustrating to watch the life slowly ebb out of this scheme - it could be really good, but it appears they want £2 a week from supporters for nothing - back to the bad old days of Trinity being a charity...

Personally i'm out after the next £3k draw - or in the unlikely event of someone winning this before then (it's hard enough to get three numbers let alone 4).

I'll spend the £100 a year on trinity a different way.

I'm still trying to figure out what fans want in the way of supporting your club, yes it would be great to hear where the monies are being directed but after all its only been going long one year. You get the chance of a return for help funding the lottery

And as for cancelling your SO and giving it to the club in some other way ie club shop it won't have the same effect as its directed solely at the academy set up which is the foundation of the club.

this ain't going to happen over night and I'm hoping that with all the effort will start to kick in within the next couple of years

We have been shouting for the club to do its own lottery for ages so we could help the club and now we are getting complaints, is it that bad that we couldn't spare the cost of a pint once a week

I think the draw should be done in the week and anounced in wakey express on a Friday morning. a bit coverage of how the 1873 draw is benefiting the club and everyone is happy, let's face we do the draw to benefit the club any self gain is just a bonus. It's better than trailing to the newsagents to do the weekly trinity draw or whatever it was 20+ years ago

I think it should be down to the guy who is running the draw, to get the info out who has won and where the money is spent.....

That's the risk and it's one that the club probably needs to adress.

It could be solved fairly easily; if Mr Elston or someone else at the club did a weekly blog and included details of the 1873 scheme and how the monies are benefitting the youth set-up, that's issue one solved. If the weekly draw was published on the website, in the WE and on one of those flashing LED boards in the shop window, that's issue two solved.

It's a shame if people are feeling sufficiently disillusioned with it that they want to cancel the SO; there's some good stuff being done with the proceeds (we appointed an education co-ordinator and are now ensuring that youngsters get a more well-rounded support network when they join the club) and it would be sad to lose that for want of a bit more communication with members.

Got to admit I don't think to look for the numbers, but was really pleased to get a cheque through the post without having to claim it for matching some of the numbers.

My main aim was to support the club, so getting something back (think it might have been £ 20) that I wasn't expecting was a bonus.

Got to agree I would be happy putting two pound in just to support and keep the junior set up, getting some thing back is a bonus, the £2000 wouldn't go a miss, a week in France for the wife and kids

Agree my contribution is to the club that I trust will be used correctly, a blog would be good but the draw will be made at games in the summer I would imagine. I dont look for the results as the odds are enormous so if I get someything iys a bonus otherwise the club gets about £8 a month from me if that makes the structures and plauers better over the coming years thats the result for me my pleasure is watching whats on the piych not 4 numbers a week

How come?

I know there are things which need improving with the draw and getting information out to the fans, but we should all be in this for the long haul.
Everyone can see that the club is moing forward (just think where we were 12 months ago !)
The simple fact with the draw, and how pooor the odds are to win the main prize, is that if more is paid out in winnings then less money goes to the club.
If we trust what Mr Glover is doing to run the club, then EVERYONE should support the scheme. Apart from the nuts and bolts of the draw, the 1873 club is
required for membership numbers and in this respect nothing has changed.
Assuming you can afford £2 a week, get your hands in your pockets and support the club.

All the moaning on here, bearing in mind the excellent saving on season tickets this year is ridiculous.
You can have a season ticket and be part of the 1873 club and still have change on the price of a season ticket from last year.

Is this a sly remark? I doubt it is fact.

Jonny Wooton has been pictured on the club website shaking hands with Agar. He also called my partner a few months ago asking if she would be interested in joining the scheme.

I dare say he did start the job, question is, is he still doing it?
