I couldn't agree more, when I saw the recent series of [i'I survived a zombie apocalypse[/i' I was sure it had been made at Freeport, then when I saw the zombies and thought of Castleford residents I was 100% convinced!

Quote: Barnsley Tiger "Love to read forums. Everyone has the right to a opinion and i understand how this whole stadium issue has dissapointed both sets of fans have been over the years.
Debting the location now? I just wander how many from wakefield travel to xcape ? Whatever happens it must be a better location than Salford. If you think about some other grounds, a community stadium at Glasshoughton is not that bad.'"

A community stadium in Glasshoughton is a fabulous idea - for people in that area. No way would I regard it as a community stadium for Wakefield District.
As for Xcape I've only been once and immediately knew why it had that name! keep it.

Maybe I have missed something, but are cas not now pretty much in the exact same position that we are ?.

It still needs to be paid for and built. Does anyone know who is footing the bill? . I have not followed the process, other than what's been on TV, so not seen all the details .

From what we've been told, it's being funded concurrently on the back of a large retail development next door - I think the stadium was the kicker to get it passed through in the community. I believe Next have already bought a huge retail space on the basis that planning permission is given. Could go completely tits up, but from the manner in which GMI Construction/Lateral Property Group are talking about it, you'd hope they don't pull the wool over our eyes. But again, as shown by Yorkcourt/our old stadium plans, that can change in an instant.

We don't have to fork out anything for it, but seems a little too good to be true!

Interesting that Poundworld have decided to open their huge new distribution centre at Normanton and not Newmarket!

The huge DC would be enough to trigger the 'Stadium Cluase' 3X over.

www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/business ... -1-6361624

Chris Edwards and Chris Edwards Jr are both Wakefield born n bred and are reputedly worth around £100Million each. It would be nice if they became interested in Wakefield Trinity

Not bitter, just plain old dislike of Castleford !

It's a long standing, learnt and slightly genetic dislike going all the way back to my playing days as a junior at U6s.
