| Would it be a different kind of structure filled in at the back and thus require more consents? Now, it is a roof that the wind can blow through freely. Would it be a more permanent structure with the back filled in, and need to be stronger, as it would block the wind?

| Will be interested to see the final result.
I have gone back to the original sketches produced at Cedar Court and the proposals prior to franchise and wondering how many will come to fruition.
As far as I can tell, we said:
1 covered stand on west terrace. The sketch makes it look like it goes right up to the touchline bar, but it doesn't.
2. north Stand covered, to cover 4,000 spectators. The sketch shows the roof going right to the fence, although I remember that the formal plans showed the roof just covering to the walkway
3. East stand. Looks just like a new roof (unless the blue bit was just meant to highlight that it is covered, and it is already covered).
4. Hospitality stand - fully covered new seating area allowing for 1400 to front
5. Cats and International Bar covered
To be fair, I think the plans were intended to highlight amount of attendance that would be covered, as per requirements, rather than what would be new. Will be interesting to see how it matches plans. Will be great to see some roof-generated atmosphere. Another part of me says that it will be a real hotch-potch, with some cover here and cover there.

It's already been made clear that the plans have changed since that meeting, for several reasons; a change in building reg's, Sky's requirement for a) certain viewing angles and b) a gantry and the new investor.
Personally, I'll be happy if we deliver something that satisfies the RFL's requirements, hotch-potch or no - with a bit of luck they'll only be temporary anyway, so I'd rather that we only spent what we have to and save a few bob to get Gareth Ellis signed up.

| If Newmarket fails, it will be interesting to see what plans AG has, and I think he's shrewd enough to plan for it.

Agreed; I'm sure that a contingency already exists.

I hear the RFL have set aside a seven figure sum to protect an iconic RL ground from the many predators who no doubt will be circling should NM fall though.

| I get the feeling that what is taking place now is plan B, with the addition of looking to buy the ground back if NM is rejected. Sadly despite what AG might say in the press i highly doubt this will satisfy the RFL again. It really is Newmarket or bust, so to speak.

Ignore the east Hull crustation, he's filling his sock because Rovers finally got some cash to start a build at Craven Park, only 3 years late mind.
Looking forward to seeing the changes at a historic venue!

You are correct, CP is 20 years or so old. It is currently 2 sided with a capacity of 7000, Thats why they want to move some of their home games to our gaff
