| Does this match now make a mockery of that crazy idea years ago that we should become "Calder"?

Always made me laugh that only Wakefield is even on the Calder, if we are going for river based amalgamation surely it should have been Leeds and Cas, whilst we should merge with Dewsbury

| With 2 points available and Leeds v Saints Wigan v Salford Hull v Shuds it could get very tight.
After Wembley hull away to leeds only 5 days later and Wigan play Saints. With Wakey away to Salford
I can see it going down to the last week end before things are settled.

If we win all of our games, it wont matter
Seriously though, we could finish anywhere between 3rd and 8th and we will need maybe 4 wins from our 5 remaining games to finish in the 4.
Thursday could be a rehearsal for the semi final.
We had better get used to playing on an U13's pitch

I'd respectfully disagree there wrencat. I think when you look at the fixtures everyone's forced to take points off each other. Another 5-6 points would see you get into 4th I'm sure.
If you look at the super 8s in previous years, the top 4 after the regular rounds has barely changed by the end of the 8s cause everyone knocked a few off each other.
Huddersfield are the dangerous ones. They've nothing to play for now and the games they win will put a big dent in some teams top 4 aspirations.
I really hope you can keep Wigan and saints at bay. I think Salford are done now

How can you disagree that winning all our remaining fixtures will guarantee a top 4 finish
I know that we may only need to win 3 but we may have to win 4 or possibly all 5 to be absolutely certain, although I dont see that happening.
At this point in time, every club has chance to make the 8 and depending what happens over the next few weeks, some (like Cas) could rest players.
Hull and Wigan have the CC final to distract them, with clubs notoriously poor the week after the final and then there are clubs who reach a point where they cant make the top 4 and they may choose to plan for next season and blood some youngsters etc.
A long way to go and it will be a real test for Cas to keep going when the hub cap is in their possession.

| It's also about beating the right teams.
As long as we beat Wigan Salford and Sts we might not need to beat Cas and Hull.
Clearly it would have helped to beat Giants.
But as said that's only if we are scraping in to the 4. If we win every game we have actually got a chance at second.

| It would have been great to beat Shudds but would we have gone in to the game v Leeds with the same sort of attitude.
Anyway that's done and dusted what we need to do from now approach every game like we did against Leeds at least that will give us a good chance . Slipping back not an option.

It really is - and not only is it an option, it's a distinct possibility; we outplayed Leeds in every aspect of the game, no doubt, but they were bloody awful - a mixture of jaded old men and wide-eyed youths. Cas will be a very different prospect - they're absolutely on fire, and losing to them will be no shame.
