Total and utter over reaction as a result of silly expectations from the management. Hock is a very good RL player who should be smashing into the Ausies on Saturday. The reported icidents would have been kept in house by a good manager, Hock and the others should have been given a good dressing down infront of their colleagues, fined and made to do extra community work on behalf of the squad. These young men have been in camp for weeks, I would expect them to break a few of the silly rules imposed on them. Rugby players throughout the ages have ` miss behaved`. So they went out for a drink, so Hock missed a meeting, big deal. Punish him yes but in house, not with this stupid look how strong I am management in the media style.

Couldn't agree more about keeping things in camp and it's no real shocker that a rugby player may drink and get his wool off now and again...However I would not of picked Hock his form this year has been poor and his game discipline is shocking; this guy can certainly unpin a teams hard work. Glad he's gone.

He hasn't been binned for having a drink. He's been binned for not taking his role seriously

My mistake, but why a waste of skin? He used recreational drugs, not performance enhancing, that in my eyes makes him weak,and as for the moral stance I can think of two bad boys that we've employed whilst under a cloud!

Because he's too stupid to learn how to behave, he's a England international and with comes some responsibility, or it would to a normal person.

Having a responsible position that kids will look up to for guidance? Hock did not give two hoots for this. No one in their right mind would condone the use of any drug including "recreational" ones. Hock may have played some good rugby but as a person he is not fit to represent England

What is most depressing, is his singular failure to learn from his past misdemeanours; there are other examples much closer to home, of players who have found themselves in the last chance saloon and as a result, got their heads down and tried to rehabilitate. Hock appears to be incurably stupid - he goes to the last chance saloon and gets bladdered! Thick as a whale omelette.
