quite right. there is no place for this in the game. referees deserve the utmost respect whether we think they're good at their job or not. the panel have looked at the incident, and made their call. leeds are not protesting.

personally i think he should have got longer. this should never happen. i'd also like to see a clamp down on mouthing to the officials, be it from the captain or not. it's poor and it's something that has been creeping in to the game for a few years.

Quite right - it's been going on for a few seasons now and seems to be more prevalent at clubs who are, or peceive themselves to be, 'big' clubs - watch Bailey, Briers, Sinfield, Webb, Brown, Finch, Tomkins, Wilkin etc for examples - they're constantly chebbing at the ref or the touchy, waving their arms around to appeal for decision and pulling faces when they're spoken to or don't get a decision. It used to be called dissent - now it just seems to be accepted behaviour.

A 3 game ban is absolutely ridiculous no matter what anyone says. The contact was made due to Silverwood being in front of the defensive line, and if anyone can believe that the 'contact' made was worthy of a disciplinary, their a tad disillusioned.

The rules say no contact. End of. He could easily have avoided him. Got what he deserved. The club and coach accepted it. Why can't you.

I don't agree that TMFMISL should be punished for making THAT contact with SILVERWOOD . I would go so far to say that wouldn't want the golden child/ratboy from Wigan punished if he were ever to do exactly the same as TMFMISL did . We neither need nor want the match officials abused verbally or physically . But I think that the official must accept a reasonable amount of the blame for the incident . If the incident was worth a three match ban then surely Mr Silverwood should have taken immediate action during the game . He can't play the 'I didn't have a clear view of the incident' card on this occasion .

Didn't Ali give a ref a pat on the shoulder ? Did he get a three match ban ? He deliberately made contact with a match official .

Cant believe grown men still refer to bailey as TMFMISL, sounds so camp its un real.
