That's his opinion, he also stated as fact that Blake Sully (I think that was his name) from the RFL had told us we were in on merit.
Either way the facts, listen carefully alf, the facts have never been stated anywhere, unless you can point them out, that we are only in SL because of the collapse of Crusaders.
And that is simply because it isn't a fact.

I'm not getting at all carried away...Lord knows, I'm a Wakefield...we definitely know better than that. The 60's nor Wally Lewis never came back...but we have some good players this season. I doubt very much that we will finish bottom and suspect we will be 8 to 10th, better if we get a nice surprise. This guy must be a proper buffon if he thinks we look a worse bet than the newly promoted side for a start off. Mind, who cares/ It's an annual sport and makes finishing mid table feel better than maybe it ought!!

This.
As I said last season, it's very easy just to ignore this stuff and claim that we like proving wrong those people who write us off etc, but I believe this kind of lazy, thoughtless journalism genuinely damages our credibility; it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that WTW are in the doldrums and as a result, the brand is damaged. When the brand is damaged, so is our player pulling power, our ability to attract new fans and most importantly, our commercial revenue streams.
I'm prepared to bet significant money that after all of the idle pundits have predicted us to finish bottom, the Sky commentary team will begin the season referring to us as "wooden spoon contenders," "favourites for the bottom berth" "propping up the table" and any number of supercilious cliches that denigrate our club and write off all of AG's hard work.
It makes my blood boil!
