| Quote Gelderdend="Gelderdend"The youngster in question is being replaced with a player who he made a fool of in his home debut man of the performance in one of wildcats wins at the back end of last season, He is also running rings round him in training big style ? This is not anything to do with rugby, If it was then the best player in training would be getting the nod for me ??'"
I take it you're talking about Gareth Moore and Kyle Wood here. Can't agree with Agar on this one if true, I think Moore has a bag load of potential and whilst he needs to bulk himself up a little showed enough in his appearances last season to be worth keeping and seeing how his development goes. He is also the best goalkicker in our squad. I'm guessing he's being shifted off the salary cap so we can squeeze Obst in. Not the way i'd have gone but time will tell if its the correct decision. What I will say though is Agar really needs it to work as he was far from a popular choice of coach and the way he is going about the recruitment then it won't take long before people are on his back. That said if it works then all will be forgiven and forgotten pretty quickly. Fickle business we are in i'm afraid.

| At the end of the day, our preferences won't get us the sack, RA will be judged on his, so it's down to him.
He also is the one that has to fit everyone into the budget, and if doing a bit of earth scorching or just a bit of light tinkering gets him a better fit then that's how it is.
I would dearly love to see a side containing lots of youthful local lads, but I don't have to worry about getting the push if they get paggered week in week out.
Kears job last year with no expectation is going to be a cake walk, compared to to Agars, and he hardly filled the squad with academy talent.
Agar has to be his own man and do it his own way, if it works then that's great for us all, if not ultimately he will lose his job.

| I think it comes down to opinions and judgement calls. Even professional coaches call these wrong from time to time, but they're better than me at it and that is why they are paid and I pay in to watch games. If it is Moore, he serves as a decent example; my personal opinion was (and still is) he looks to have the skills and potential, and that his deficiencies can be overcome. Speaking to a coach who'd worked with him elsewhere, their view was he'd neither the physicality or toughness to make it. Either of us could be right, but I'd guess more often than not the person who does it for a living and who has seen them day in, day out in training would have the upper hand.
If it is him, it will be a shame and I hope he does well wherever he goes, but I'm not about to hang Agar out to dry for it before a game has been played.

| Dont blame RA for the shocking use of young players under the last coach. Kear basically held back players hindering there development in order to use them as pawns to get a SL licence.
By holding back players he basically ensured they would be lost to top flight rugby league.
It's a bit like blaming the current government for the financial mess the country is in now.

Rl has been badly mismanaged but we are now again on the cusp in my opinion with the young players about to hit the Super League in the next 3 years. It seems finally we are reducing overseas players, making allowances for club products. It's a great time after perhaps 20 years of looking after individual clubs rather than the game.
super league
Lack of relegation
Reduction of the quota
Allowances on the cap for club produced players
4 changes that will in my opinion see us finally be realistically competitive with Australia within the next 5 years.

And let's not forget your own beloved club forming a partnership/becoming the bitch of a Union club, in what appears to be an attempt to undo lots of that good work by opening up a clear pathway for promising youngsters to get better paid jobs in the other code.
All that, so they could hold on to Tomkins S for another season or so; from the outside looking in, it's slightly pathetic.
