Two possibilities:
1. Is exercising his business acumen and waiting until later to force a lower price. Not exactly a sellers market.
2. What he wants isn't best for the club, as he wants us to help build a football side.

The former is his choice. The latter is good for us if he has pulled out.

At the same time he could be using Wakey as leverage to take over another club in another Sport! From experience just wait and see!

SO'C isn't the richest man in the country but what he has done with Widnes in terms of structure / sponsors etc is incredible and most importantly has made us much more self funding.

Pompey a good comparison, rich owners yet poor structure so when left went broke very quickly. Plus mega rich men don't tend to want to just throw cash at things for the sake of it!

Without the guarentee of a 3 year franchise then i am affraid it would be money in and none out scenario, Crowds would drop off and the salary cap would shrink to 300k, New market is certainly still a 50/50. sky money would dry up. Then there is no guarentee that if you do everything the RFL ask of you that you would get back up in three years as there is toulouse and Barrow wanting up and they are expansion clubs.

Everything in Championship is stacked against you without a Money backer i am affraid and why would money be ploughed into so much uncertainty.

Its fine if sky want you in for viewing figures like Quins, Crusaders. Wakefield ???.. I am affraid not, Heartland clubs dont count like they used to.
