| Quote Inflatable_Armadillo="Inflatable_Armadillo"No and think this is why Wakefield have issued the press release! They were both given the money last year but it was always subject to continued ratification and if you look back through the old minutes, I am sure it will be there (but can't be bothered to trawl through them) and probably said (in light of the the meeting that has just happened) that the money is available to December 2010, end of the year, or whatever and has to be ratified again at this time.
I bet I can also guess when they want to ratify it again....'"
They have given the date when the funding will be reviewed again, it is either june or july next year and funding will only be available to both clubs as long as both clubs are still in SL. I dont know how to put the link on but it is on the official cas tigers web site.

Castleford's trust was set up a few years back iirc and includes Castleford Tigers, Waystone and WMDC.
I think that's correct, I seem to remember something like that being set up.

| Quote RebelRebel="RebelRebel"From what I can gather, Castleford do have a community trust similar to the Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust - see [url=http://www.castigers.com/page.php?id=733here[/url (if the link takes you directly to the page). However, this trust is does not appear to be an independent trust in the sense that the Wakefield Community Trust (as opposed to the Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust) is.
The question is, do Cas have a community trust similar to the Wakefield Community Trust, and if not, is the Cas community trust affiliated to the club allowed to accept this council land loan to raise money towards the cost of the stadium? If the trust cannot legally act in this way and the land loan is going directly to Cas, well.... there may be problems.'"
In answer to that all i could say is you would have to ask Richard Wright, I would imagine the trust is suitable to accept the funding but I am not in a position to say for sure.

I wouldn't imagine it wouldn't be suitable to be honest, or Wakefield would have done the same and not set up the 'Stadium Trust' , but Gazemous could right in that another one already does exist that Cas can use.
Ask Richard Wright... you are catching on Tigerman10!

Yes mate, that's the one I was referring to (the trust mentioned on the Cas website). Similar to the Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust, as far as I can see. Both have direct links to the respective clubs and are therefore different to the Wakefield Community Trust.

But that is a community trust set up to deliver specific things to the community, exactly like Wakefield's, but the 'Stadium Trust' is a separate entity so I would think Cas either have something similar already, but not really mentioned it to date, or they need to set one up to access the funding to make everything legal and above board.

| Quote Khlav Kalash="Khlav Kalash"It was a loan from the HBOS I think, but as the WDCT has no tangible assists in which to borrow against, the council needed to guarantee the loan; perhaps the council then guaranteed this figure against the £2M value of the proposed land loan, but I am just speculating.'"
Just about spot on KK. The Community Trust needed WMDC to guarantee a loan to cover the planning costs (think it may have been from Co-op Bank rather than Bank of Scotland - but that bit doesn't really matter).
The £2m is the value of land being made available to both schemes to assist in gaining the necessary funding. Once planning has been granted the Community Trust will pay off the loan guaranteed by WMDC using the funding obtained for the stadium development.
If the planning is refused the council will have to pick up the tab for the loan for the planning costs.
