Wakefield stadium action group great idea. Forget the nimby pimbys who walk on that land once a year but yet don't want to see change .

It is a great idea, and whilst I've talked this one through with our scaly friend, it is his idea and it is best for us not to get involved this time.

This could be quite a significant event though and we would encourage anyone who qualifies as being local to get along and show your support!

I think that idea has already been used!

Thanks everyone for PM's so far, we have already got quite a good group and certainly location wise (in relation to the development) we appear to be doing well.

I have slept on the issue of timing and politicians and think we should keep up the momentum and aim to get this in the Wakefield Express as soon as possible. Now, we do have a slight issue with trying to get into the 7th May edition of the Wakefield Express as Emma Hakier, who has reported on the stadium issues to date, is away on Holiday this week and does not get back till Monday (3rd May).

As such, I am currently thinking that we will be better just holding off a week and aiming to get it in the May 14th edition which, given it will be the first edition that the Express will be able to carry local reaction and stories to the general election, could be a high selling issue. It also means that if I invite the politicians to a photo call after the 6th May, they might actually decide to turn up!

So, current plan is try and arrange the photo-call for early evening (6pm-7pm ish) on Monday 10th May.

THIS IS JUST A PLAN AT THE MOMENT.

I will get in touch with Emma on Monday morning and then hopefully I will give everyone plenty of notice of the final arrangements.

I will be inviting the YEP and also possibly Ridings FM and Real Radio as well, but the Wakefield Express is most critical, so once we have them sorted the others can turn up to suit this arranged date and time.

So we need to keep this thing moving, who do you know in the area, give them a call, ask if they will be part of this and to get in touch?

We need as many locals as possible, lets show everyone, the Council and the Government (whom ever that might be) that there are plenty of locals who support this development!

Lofthouse any good?

Thinking about this yes, I think we should include Outwood and Lofthouse and as long as we actually have some people from Moorhouse, Bottomboat, Stanley, Methley etc (which we do I am really pleased to say!

)

I don't want to extend it further than that though!

Certainly, much of Outwood and Lofthouse is closer to J30 of the M62 than J41 of the M1, so actually this could be a good gauge of whether you should get involved?
