I mean the new shirt / season ticket "deal". The sponsor's logo is a loss-maker, but having the name of a scrap metal merchant emblazoned across your chest is not what some people may consider the height of cool either.

Creates interest, bit of a buzz about it. The fans voting on the design is always a good ides - makes fans feel they have a say in something. Just good PR.

Hate to say this - but I think their shirt is quite nice as well!

Agreed. The thing that they do is hype up the small things and turn what is just flogging a shirt into an event. A lesson for us.

| What Cas do is put the club at the heart of the community, make it the symbol of the town. It is harder for us because Wakey is bigger and so easier for the club to be ignored. As good as the "Wildcats" is for the kids when they get to the club (although I would go back to just Trinity, and have Wildcats as the nickname, but that's a different debate), maybe the emphasis should be more on the word "Wakefield". The new ground, if it happens, may help in that regard, as it will be a big new shiny thing for the city.

A very smart idea, no doubt they will make sure the event at Xscape gets loads of publicity. They are opening a shop at Xscape at the end of the month as well, which will further raise their profile.
Wakey should look at doing something similar next season, but i can not think of a suitable venue.

For the shirt release, at a special exhibition at the Hepworth with artistic pictures of famous names from Trinity's past would be a great publicity stunt.
The club always had a shop in the Ridings but unfortunately rates meant they moved out of there onto a side street before moving completely back to BV to save money. I think with so many stores standing vacant in the Ridings that the owners would at least offer a unit at a discounted rate to get people in.
Trinity walk, which would be a natural partnership, will not be ready until 2011 so maybe the season after the club could look at something there as part of a sponsorship package.
