Yes!
Quote mutley cathowever does any one remember the hanley try that never was Shocked he crossed over the try line at chav corner and showboated to the posts only to be clobbered by (Eden me thinks) and had the ball clearly ripped . the ref probably holdsworth Laughing gave it as a try even though ellery got up looking sheepish and the ball was rolling towards the players entrance. '"
See my posts above, it was Jason Timmins who got the ball free..and it could have been John Holdsworth the ref..

| For me it was the midweek match, henry paul beating about 6 men on a amazing run to the try line, also same match andy wilson going the lengh of the patch, it was at central park and we won, awesome night
second is the first game of this season, bad weather, high emotions and JD pointing the name on the back of his shirt at the end
third is michael jackson and that try against them at home, i think andy mason went the full lengh that day as well

| How about being cheated when Farrell knocked the ball back towards his own tryline and Jefferies picking it up and sitting on it under the posts only for it to be reffed as a knock on by Taddy

| Quote owiepob="owiepob"was the Offiah debut game not also one of Geoff Bagnalls first games for us. Either way. Geoff played one of if not his first at Central Park. !'"
Pretty sure you are right about Baggers making his debut in the same game. Full house to see Offiah make his debut. Remember been laughed at by Wigan fans when we told them we had come to see our new scrum half and not the worlds most expensive player! Lost 20 odd nill if i remember rightly.
On another note, sure i heard somewhere that Belle Vue was the only ground Offiah never scored at? Anyone confirm??
On a memories note, i remember the cup game at our place in the early 90's with us really been in the game and having alot of pressure on there line. They then somehow got the ball and Joe Lydon kicked it from between his own posts and it bounced into touch just in front of me a yard from our tryline. Still never seen anything like it and would almost definately be the game breaker in the League Express!
The match was live on grandstand and im sure a couple of blokes from what is now chav corner went onto the field mid way through the second half to have a go at Whitfield???
Think it was also the game that 36year old Ray Price had Hanley in his pocket.

| Quote GET EM ON SIDE REF="GET EM ON SIDE REF"For me its got to be the 1988 game our 2nd game back in the old first division a great match against a star studded Wigan team and a 25 20 win
Trinity had the likes of Mark Graham Steve Ella John Glancy in the team and a young fullback called Julian Russell who scored a great try
At one point Trinity led 17 0 Wigan came back to 17 16 but we never lost the lead.
In the stand we had Michael Parkinson and Adam Faith'"
I AGREE THIS ONE STANDS OUT FOR ME

Until he went off injured.
If Ray had stayed on that day, I'm convinced we would have won and put the mighty Wigan out of the cup!

| Quote Fordy="Fordy"I have memories of going to Central Park pre-season to see the Wigan Sevens competition (not sure which year though)
We spotted a young ginger kid playing for Wigan who looked like he might be a good prospect. That kid was of course Kris Radlinski and went on to be slightly more than a good prospect.
Also did we not play Wigan the first game after Martin Offiah signed for them for some record fee (£440,000 springs to mind)?'"
do you remember the year we won the Wigan sevens that was a great day out think it was 1980

| Round 18 of the 2007 Super League season was a great performance by the Wildcats. Wigan under the influence of Trent Barratt came to Belle Vue with a strut but the Wildcats outclassed them in every department. Try scorers that day were Blaymire, Demetriou, Fox, Jefferies 2 and a fantastic try scored by Richard Moore who handed off Calderwood then trampled all over him to kiss the ball then dive over the line. Brett Ferres kicked 4 goals in front of 8,126 supporters

| Remember Mason cutting Wigan to bits one year with a couple of blinding tries at Belle Vue, also remember a game when i was very young when Wigan scored with nearly every touch of the ball but missed loads of kicks got to the point where everyone was having a crack a goal and Andy Greg missed straight in front of the sticks.

Indeed they did cannot remember the stats but it was 70 points wracked up with only 2 successfull kicks, obviously pre the botica days. Im 30 now can can not really remember the specifics apart from the missed kicks and Andy Greg miss towards the end.
The 2006 night match was a shocker from a Wigan point of view and in my opinion the writing was on the wall for Millward after that. Richards who has turned out to be a pretty solid fullback played 1 that night and was abysmal as were a good few others.
Ashton running away from Moore on his spectacullar try still makes me smile from 2007.
Remember not sure what year it was but Nige Wright was on loan from Wigan mainly due to his shocking defence which ensured he could not get near the first team at Wigan. Whenever Wigan formed a scrum they pulled a second row or Prop in at 6 and fed them the ball and got them to run straight at him, and to his credit he had a good game taking all they threw at him. Cas used the same tactic shortly before and Ian Smailes bashed him all over the park. Think the display of Nige that day ensured he returned from his loan.
