If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |
|
| I was all for the appointment of Brian Smith. I didn't expect miracles just keeping us in superleagued last season and an improvement in the defence this season. . Walking away after 5 games is the action of a coward. Refusing to give proper reasons to the supporters for leaving is equally despicable. Posting a cryptic message on Facebook saying supporters should ask better questions is malicious and the action of someone who not only has no feeling for the club but is also actively trying to destabilise the club. I am no supporter of MC. I think he treats's the supporters with contempt at times but I don't think he is to blame for Smith leaving. If BS knows different now he is back in Oz he should tell us what he meant that Facebook message. On another note. Who was the CEO who rang MC before BS had resigned?. Brian's brother r obviously knew he was jumping ship so it must have been the CEO of Warrington hoping to offload a certain assistant coach well known to supporters of this club. Let's hope MC tells them were to go.

I don't think you need to be throwing words around like that. You've made your point. Ease up on the vitriol from now on please.

| Brian smiths second comment he's left on Facebook is interesting. Seems to be hinting at a bad attitude and real negativity from i would assume MC. Strange one, after hearing them both talk, as a neutral I think they both make valid points. A real shame that things got so frosty that they couldn't talk through their gripes with one another. Smith has been around the block a few times and mc with all due respect is pretty new to league. Could Smith have shown a bit more patience? Could MC have shown more positivity? Smith should be respected or what he did last year in keeping wakey up because heading into June last year wakey didn't look like they'd reach the MPG let alone win it. The next move MC makes could make or break the next decade for WTW. So it's kinda strange to hear he wants a fast appointment.

I'm not!
I think Brian smith up until the point he posted on face book was being professional . However I think he let himself down by posting cryptic messages for us all to mull over. he could of released a press release statement confirming his frosty relationship with MC. And that things had not worked out as hoped etc etc etc.. He then should of either kept quiet or come out and told us all how serious it all actually is!!!! If it's all as bad as he thinks!!
As for central heating gate... I do get the concept of looking after the players but with the situation we are in cut backs are inevitable and have to be made somewhere... Had trinity been 3 wins 2 loses nobody would of given a stuff about heating costs!!
I think he did some good stuff smithy, but feel the cryptic stuff let him down somewhat and was more about poking Carter in the eye than giving us fans the heads up on what's happening!!

I'm told it was the Huddersfield CEO and apparently it's a well known fact that their assistant coach applies for every Super League head coach job that comes up!

I think this is fair comment both seem to have been a little childish on the face of it, or probably just one of them I don't know.
I do understand the need to make an appointment fairly quickly because the new coach has to make his stamp on the team and very soon we need to start winning games. I don't want to be anywhere near another MPG.

I can understand Mr Gill ringing him up and the conversation going something like, Michael it's Steve here we need to free up a bit of cap space so if you take another one of our players off our hands I'll let you into a secret that your coach has quit, the only possible link to it is one of our ex Cas players told him prior to Smith telling Mr Carter. Apologies if I'm a mile off but it's the best I've got

| Well Chiss - they are big golf buddies so I suppose it could be right. You'll probably end up with Ryan Boyle.

| Although things like dressing room heating and coaches, etc, seem like small things, but it must have seemed at times like they were playing for a club a couple of divisions below. If you are going to treat players like part-time park players, they will think like them, and for what financial saving?
I'm not into mollycoddling players, but we've all been in jobs probably where things happen that affect morale, and all been in jobs where you've had fun and felt highly-regarded. One produces good results, the other doesn't. The heating of a dressing room shouldn't come under the expense category of "heating" but "morale", and that can win or lose a game.
Yes, balance the books, but think of the real cost of things, not just the number in a column.

They get paid Super League wages so if something as trivial as the temperature of the changing rooms makes them play like players from Championship 1 maybe they should hand their salaries back as well!
