| Quote: bren2k "I'm not sure that's the case; isn't he going to court to have the decision of the independent panel not to hear his appeal be re-examined?
I don't think the High Court has the power to overturn a sporting sanction handed down by a governing body, and even if they do have the power, I doubt they'd have the inclination.'"
I thought this was the case, not about the points but the supposed 'irregular' procedure's that the RFL have followed or that their case was not heard by the independent panel.
This all goes to show that fans on both boards don't know exactly what the High Court appeal is really about.
There has been a lot of silly name calling when different views have been expressed to the ones in the know!!

And the RFL have refused to publish the appeal hearings report due to it containing some 'high sensitive information'. They've even declined to publish a summary of it. Bloody frustrating that the fans are still no nearer to finding out just what occurred.'" ok
so just what is so secretive what Green knows, why he hasn't come out and mentioned this that will sway the difference, how the hell do you expect anyone to give the club any sympathy when your keeping stum

| Is the high court just about the six points or is there more to this.

Highly sensitive information?! They're a governing body of a minor sport not a military unit. This just reinforces my belief of the dodgy manner of the RFL'S involvement over this. Would a freedom of information request be applicable in this situation?

| Freedom of information is for public bodies I believe the RFL. Is not.

| Firstly I feel for the Bull fans, they are the innocent ones in this and I can understand why they feel aggrieved.
That aside I do wonder on the logic of the Bulls and Green. Surely instead of throwing good money after bad in legal proceedings it can be better used to pay off some creditors? If he chose this route then I think most neutral fans would see that worthy of the return of 2 points?
Whilst the ins and outs of the case are not in the public domain, the perceived view is that Green is hell bent on a claim of injustice. He is maybe blurred from looking at quick wins and a sense of working with what he has. The more he behaves in this way the more I lose respect for the guy.

| Sandal Cat called it! Procedures, Procedures, Procedures! That's the line that's been trotted out wrongly by numerous Bulls fans. It was always about points and Green has done himself and his club a disservice by suggesting it was about the integrity of the sport.
Quote: Sandal Cat "All Marc Green is doing in my opinion is keeping the option open of a High Court action. As weeks go by he will review his position and if the situation is such that 6 points back will make no difference to them he will simply withdraw the action. If at the end of the season the points deduction have made a difference he will pursue the case.
It's simple if we win a few more games it all becomes irrelevant.'"
Quote: Sandal Cat "It's just bravado from Green who knows the Bulls won't get within 6 points of us or another team. He'll wait 4-6 weeks by which the league will confirm Bradford's relegation and also that they can't get within the 6 deducted points. Then Green will discontinue the case but in doing so has sent a message to the RFL that he isn't afraid to take them on.'"
Quote: Sandal Cat "At the same time look like the biggest Delbert in the game. I'll be the first to laugh in his arrogant face!'"

| He gets the Bulls for next to nothing and gets his money back (it's in his power to determine which debts to settle). Given the extent of his moaning, I have questioned whether it was Super League or bust.
There is an assumption on the Bulls board that they will bounce right back. I'm not so convinced. A lot of hungry established sides in the Championship and the current top twelve in the top flight will be a tough nut to crack.
For me, this ridiculous new format is akin to when Super League first started out, when we used to play Aussie teams. A few seasons of drubbings may make them rethink.
And for all the concern of yo-yo teams under one-up, one-down, that isn't really borne out by the evidence, and it certainly made the Championship grand final mean something.
If they go back to that, the Bulls could be in the wilderness for a few years. How long will Marc Green last then?
Will I miss them? Not really. I hate Odsal, by far the worst ground in rugby league, and I won't miss going. Will the game miss them? Yes, of course, they were a draw and drew in big numbers.

Bullmania pretty much died around 2008/2009. Since then they have been no more an asset than anyone else in Super League. Whenever I get into discussions about sport with people on my travels, at the mention of me coming from Wakefield I'm more often than not asked if I'm a Rugby League fan. I've never heard Bradford Bulls mentioned once, it's mainly Wigan who these people are mostly aware of.

| They're still getting more than us this year, and on a good run can easily get a five-figure crowd. Huddersfield couldn't even do that when they were winning the league.

| It'll be interesting to see what happens at Odsal next season. When Cas went down both times they were still getting big crowds, not that dissimilar to their Super League crowds. I can't see the Wooly Bully brigade sticking it out.

| Wasn't Bradford's season passes cheaper than Wakefield's in the Glover era ? Or have I got that wrong ? One things for certain, cheap rugby league always adds an extra few thousand onto the hardcore fans.

I would seriously question that, when they have been on TV the place has looked empty.
I think its like everything at the Bulls, their sheer arrogance will not accept their crowds are
down. Anyone can say there is more in the stadium than there actually is by using the Elston method
of counting.
