Can we not get the previous owner of Yorkshire Traction to chip in some money, I believe he received quite an amount when he sold his business.

No not wit just a more realistic proposition than many I have read on here. We are asked to get people to support the club be they friend, colleagues or family just thought it was an understandable assumption.

What sparked my comment was a news item about one just recently in York (I think) and they said that over the few days it was held then they had 33,000 visitors. Make it big enough (novelty value) with the 'exhibitors' taking the risk money wise and I'd help put with the drinking

 Good Car Boots are increasingly popular as most people are skint and it's an easy long term income stream that can be taken to Newmarket. As long as it's well advertised I think it will get a good turn out on a regular basis. The car boots near me have massive turn outs. 200 cars at £9 each is just short of 2k per Sunday morning. If access can be restricted you could charge customers £1 per adult to top up the funds generated with volunteer stewards collecting at access points.

A Xmas market might not drag in bargain hunters and is only a one off and not sure about the gimmic with the ice rink as it'll be costly and might back fire. We have one near us which didn't seem to do that well last Xmas. Need to look a minimum effort and maximum income generators I think. |
